Under Siege 3

By Doug - October 2, 2008 - 17:44 America/Montreal

SegalWe may have been down out out for the past 48 hours – but I am glad to bring you the news of the day. It appears Steven Segal is in talks to do an Under Siege 3. We get this glorious scoop from our friends at the movieweb:

“There are offers and we’re looking at them,” Seagal said. Apparently, he has some ideas about where the film should go as well.

“I personally want it to be something more modern,” said Seagal. “In other words, I wouldn’t mind if it was about something more mystical or…maybe extraterrestrial in nature. Some real government top secrets instead of just the typical.”

Something more mystical or extraterrestrial …In a sub! I sincerely hope we get to see Steven Segal save the earth from an alien crisis using his fists alone. This will be intergalactic diplomacy in the spirit of James T Kirk. With luck he will fight an alien with multiple arms or 8 foot long appendages. I want to see him fold an 8 foot alien arm up like laundry!

As far as the mystical enemy, I have no idea where he is going with this. I just hope in preparation for battle we see another scene of him meditating with accupuncture incense rods sticking out of his body. Segal is a focused and spiritual man. He is a warrior shaman, an old soul; if anyone could battle the mystical with his fists I’m certain it would be him.

We will be sure to follow this news. It’s always cause for celebration when fabled action heroes come back for another. Sly Stallone recently reminded us that age has jack shit to do with the quality of your action. The latest Rambo was the craziest war carnage I have have seen in ages.

I hope this happens and am excited at the prospect. International Friends; would you prefer mystical or extraterrestrial foes for Steven in his next picture, and why?

Doug, there were episodes of Uncut where I thought you would make a great younger Seagal. You should put your name in for a flashback part.

  2. Obi-Wan Kubrick says:

He will use sausage links as nun-chucks.

  3. Astrocreep says:

im totally al for seeing Seagal do another Under Siege. Steven Seagal=uber pwnage

  4. ksmred2 says:

    DIRECT-TO-DVD!

  5. Ksmred2 said it in jest, but I have to concur. WB has been making/developing DTV sequels to a number of films, most recently The Lost Boys…and since Seagal’s flicks have been mostly DTV the past few years, I *can* see this happening.

    HOWEVER

“Under 3″ has been brewing for some time, and I think it is really lame to throw in Seagal’s Casey Ryback against something supernatural or hand me downs from War Of The Worlds. There was, I should mention, the DTV flick he did a number of years ago called “Submerged”. For part of the film, it was Under Siege on a sub, with a (watered down) sci-fi element in it. That element was brainwashed Universal Soldier type hybrids, B film kickboxer Gary Daniels among them. Yes, that’s also the pic where Seagal faced off against Bob Sapp.

I would rather see Ryback going against another merc team in another setting. It may sound old hat, but at least it is old school and adhere to the formula.

    HOWEVER

There is one…small….possibility. Seagal, as Ryback in US3, or a new character in an unrelated new title…defending against flesh eating zombies/Resident Evil types/infected crazies from 28 Days Days Later or the 80’s flick Warning Sign. Hell, put Seagal against the 80’s C.H.U.D. There you have it. Govern’t toxic spill and cover up= flesh eating zombies with raisin skin, stretchy necks, rows of shark like teeth and glowing yellow doll eyes.

    Can’t go wrong.

They did it, those bastards !!!
    They did it!!!!!!

    THEY FINALLY DID IT!!!!!!!

    (Charlton Heston voice)

  7. Stevie says:

Under Siege joins forces with the X-Files… ha ha ha

  8. Stevie says:

… wait “Under Siege 3 Mystical Fists of Furry”

  9. Stevie says:

… yea Steven Segal could even meet up with some of the cats from the X-Men. He then becomes a mutant and… well… has mystical fists of course. You know fire balls and the whole bit.

  10. Stevie says:

… and then after realizing his new powers he could then help defeat the Decepticons in the third Transformers flick.

  11. Stevie says:

… hell, why stop there. Harry Potter could probably use his help too.

  12. Ricci says:

Time for more prayer beads and shiney shirts, the glimmerman is coming back!

  13. Persetti says:

Hell even super fast alien ninjas couldn’t beat Seagal

Both Under Sieges are my favourites from him and a third one is welcome. I say bring back Gary Busey!

  14. Persetti says:

    …perhaps as an alien!

  15. cosmic says:

Im just afraid they will ruined the franchise……….

  16. PADTHAI says:

Not related to this post. A new Dragonball teaser is up, hope you guys do a blog post about this.

  17. Gordon Shumway says:

Ryback is a chef isnt he? I nominated Gordon Ramsay for head villian.

  18. Wintle says:

The site goes down and the first major news story you post on your return is for a Steven Seagal sequel.

It’s makes me happy to see that you still know your priorities.

  19. I really like Under Siege One and Two, but I’d be surprised if there were any studio interest at all. Way to much of a GAMBLE!

  20. Chuck Norris says:

The most interesting thing about Segal’s statement is his understanding of the word “modern.”

  21. Rodney says:

@Wintle, “The site goes down and the first major news story you post on your return is for a Steven Seagal sequel.”

actually it was the CW Robin show story two down.

    Just sayin.

  22. Wintle says:

I meant “you” as in Nagy specifically, not “you” as in the entire Movie Blog Task Force. Sorry, I should have made that more clear.

And I’m not sure that a story about a television show about Robin, the Boy Wonder counts as “major” or even “news”, especially in comparison to Seagal updates.

  23. Rodney says:

It ranks much higher on the anticipation or discussion scale than anything with Segal in it.

    But it certainly is news.

  24. Wintle says:

Dude, it’s Seagal’s world. We’re all just living in it.

  25. Alan Foreman says:

Are we EVER gonna get any more news on this website?
It’s been Segal for about a month now arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

  26. Rengaw says:

I think it would be great to see Steven Segal do a movie like Undersiege3 and have it be about him finding out about the Uluminati trying to take over the world and he comes into action as a man on the run with some big secret he has to reveal to the public that proves they are for real and he is chased fighting for his life to stop them and get the secret out.
Then as the climax for the movie they could have Dec.21/2012 come about and all of the sudden some natural phenonmenon happens that turns him into a spiritual god like being and he can control all living things with his mind and sends animals and plants to take out all of them, while he stands back and meditates control over the universe with aliens who appear out of no where and tell him he is the choosen one who shall now after saving the world from the Uliminati shall go with them to help stop the second big bang which will reverse all life and undo what has been done from the begining, he will be the ultimate super powered super hero of all time if someone like Spielburg or George Lucas could pull this one off, all i want is a roll in the movie where Steven Segal sends me flying through the air as a bad guy who keeps getting back up chassing him and he can never ulitmately kill me because i’m like unbreakable, seriously, lol. :)
