I would still see Sin City 2 for the NEW characters. I know that’s a dirty word these days,,,

Rourke was the best part of Sin City but if he can’t do it fine, let’s introduce another great performance.

I think someone should get real ballsy and change the visual style. No one said it had to look like Sin City 1.

I think the lure of another Sin City has basically disappeared because, one they took too long to make the sequel and two, the look, which played a large part in the popularity of the film has lost its luster. And Miller will completely kill it with The Spirit, which will bomb, badly.
I’m betting they are watching how The Spirit will do until they green light the sequel to Sin City.
So really, I don’t think we’ll get a sequel, unless Miller is not involved.

No one has seen the spirit yet are writing off the guys entire directing career. Pathetic.

I know we all want to write people off as quick as possible but lets at least wait until their film is released before doing so huh.

is that too much to ask.

sure the spirit might suck. probably will the trailer is terrible but lets see it first.

I am convinced beyond a shadow of doubt that Sin City 2 will not get made…..period (except as a direct to dvd quickie).

Mickey Rourke Needs Sin City 2 I think!!

He is not the best actor but is superb for this role!!

I wasn't much of a 'Sin City' fan, but I did like some of the actors' performances, specifically Rourke's, Powers Boothe, Rosiario Dawson and Clive Owen. As for Rourke- whose Marv had a passing resemblance (for me anyway) to his role in 1989's Johnny Handsome) ever since Sin City 2 was announced, his name didn't come up all that much. I usaully heard Dawsons's or Owen's as far as returnees go, and maybe Boothe's. "Sin City 2" was supposedly delayed due to Miller wanting one actress in the new film, which of course, is Angelina Joile. I suppose there may have been a small role for Rourke as Marv (in a "new" flashback) ....unless there's a 'Harv'- Marv's 'twin brother' made up for the film--and is mistaken for Marv. But that's as far as I'd go. By the way, since we are on the subject of Mickey Rourke... Wienstiens! Release 'Killshot' with Rourke, Tom Jane and Diane Lane already! If the film, based off Elmore Leonard's novel is garbage or you don't give two hoots about it, put it to video already. Get it off your shelf. Give it to another distrubutor who gives a rip. If Rourke gets a nomination for Wrestler, you got to answer for Killshot's delay sometime. Don't think Killshot is relevant? Who wants to make Sin City 2? Wouldn't it be distributed under your banner?

I could’ve swore that THE SPIRIT doesn’t come out till Christmas. You’d think with all the “Frank Miller was never a good director” comments, that the movie had already came out, was seen, reviewed, and processed. Considering SIN CITY is a fairly well-liked movie, and that Robert Rodriguez co-directed it, I think passing judgement on Miller’s solo directing skills without having seen his only solo directing credit is ignorant.

Don’t judge a flick solely on it’s trailer. I’ve seen dozens of trailers for movies that looked like crap that turned out to be really good. Now, if the movie is released and is crap, I could see making a judgement call on Miller’s solo directing skills. Otherwise, give the man a chance.

It’s funny to see all the fanboys who used to worship the guy turn on him when he decides to tackle a property that doesn’t feature SIN CITY or BATMAN.

frank miller’s past his prime as a comics writer. he was never a good director. his comic book movies seem more campy than gritty or hardcore. his work is best adapted by heavyweights like chris nolan.

to imagine a batman begins (which was heavily miller-influenced) as a sin-city-esque romp would ruin the entire movie for me.

seriously, though, all of these problems could be solved if frank miller went cg…….think about it……cg films for adults…..not just kids…..might be fun….?
