Everything coming down the pipe from the folks bringing us The Watchmen looks fantastic. I haven’t heard anyone bitch about the visuals to date, and as someone that got to see the Owl Ship at Comic Con, I can attest to how cool it looked.

Early praise from Kevin Smith is also very promising. Many were skeptical when news of this film was first announced, but most now seem excited to check it out. I’m sure it wont please every fan of the comic book, but even if it appeals to most of this graphic novels fans – I will consider it a huge accomplishment.

i just read it and….HOLY SHIT was it awsome- doug, you must read this my friend (if you already havent)

i really do hope they copy the graphic novel FORBADOM, page for page from that book….that my friends…was amazing and i recomend it for anyone who hasnt read it….

hey HANDLE…terminator comes out in like 12 months…harry potter? punisher? 007?

  2. I could be totally wrong but I really think this will be an inside film, limited to comic book geeks and internet fanboys. While it will make some decent money, probably 140 million Domestically, the mainstream moviegoer will care less! I must say, while Im a big fan of superhero movies the pictures of these characters do little, if nothing for me.

  3. I’m halfway through the comic now, and the only thing I know about the movie is through what I’ve seen from the trailer that preceded TDK. They really got the look down. The structure of the comics will be difficult. The graphic novel has a very heady and complex structure that constantly retells similar events through different perspectives, and it relies on the reader being able to pick up information and apply that to different parts of the story. There is just so much that is told that only has applications to the rest of the story thematically. I don’t know if they’re gonna have to truncate or move quickly if this is going to be a one time movie. I’m incredibly interested in how the script is structured.
