By the beard of Zeus! It looks like Kevin Smith has decided to add some professionals to the roster of Zack and Miri Make A Porno. Katie Morgan and the legendary Traci Lords have been added to the cast, we get the scoop thanks to our friends at comingsoon:
Craig Robinson (“The Office”), former porn star Traci Lords, Ricky Mabe (ABC Family’s “Beautiful People”), Jeff Anderson (Clerks II) and Katie Morgan (HBO’s “Katie Morgan: A Porn Star Revealed”) have joined Seth Rogen, Elizabeth Banks and Jason Mewes in Kevin Smith’s Zack & Miri Make a Porno.
Production is set to begin Wednesday on the Weinstein Company and Dimension Films project, which centers around two lifelong friends — Zack and Miri — who after finding themselves deep in debt enlist their friends to make a pornographic movie with the goal of earning some quick cash.
This rules! I love it when porn actresses cross over into mainstream films. There is no reason why some actresses shouldn’t be considered for both genres; but for some reason there is an invisible wall that keeps the adult film stars away from standard hollywood films. Traci Lords has been the most successful porn-star to cross over into the mainstream genre, but sadly no longer does adult films. Katie Morgan however is still acting in adult films and it is great to see her straddling both worlds.
I think the addition of these two girls will add a great dynamic to the film. They have both been involved in adult and have a wealth of experience to bring to the project. Porno certainly doesn’t cater to the shy; having two girls with few reservations, combined with Kevin Smith’s hilarious storytelling should be delightful! This is fantastic news and increases my level of excitement for the project. This makes sense for the film, and will crank up the porno power in Zack And Miri Make a Porno.
I had the pleasure of meeting her last month in Atlanta when she performed at my club, The Pink Pony. She is just as fun and funny in person! I hope we will be seeing a lot more of her in mainstream projects.
So I watched an HBO (TMN actually) special that was hosted by Katie Morgan, not the one you had mentioned previously, and you wanna know something? Besides having a stunning figure and hosting the show 100% nude, she was extremely funny and charming. I was just wondering the other day why she doesn’t do more mainstream work with a charismatic personality like that.
