And considering it’s mo-cap, they could get away with one actor more easily.

But even as twins, they had different voices in the animated series. It was the only way you could tell them apart.

They are twins in the books. And the thing about twins is that, aside from looking alike 99% of the time, they tend to sound alike as well so it’s strange to cast two actors with very distinct voices for the parts, instead of what they usually do, cast one actor to play both parts.

Perhaps the Mario Brothers’ last name is Mario? Like how some people are called by their last name as a nick name? Meet Giovanni Mario and Luigi Mario. The Mario Brothers. lol

There has been some ambiguity about the Thompson Twins as in TinTin apparently its let slip that they are brothers or sometimes actual twins in the books despite the running gag about their names spelling.

I’ve never read the books, but there is some speculation on their relationship discussed online.

I have no idea why no-one has mentioned this yet, but it’s THOMSON and Thompson. Even though they are apparently twins. Who are known as the Thompson twins. Hey, if it makes sense for Mario and Luigi to be “the Mario brothers”…

Yay! Tintin was pretty good, casting Andy Serkis as Captain Haddock (the best character in comics) is inspired. Withthe addition of Frost and Pegg I’ll be going to see this.

Tintin is nothing like their usual movies, although this is a good casting choice for Thomson and Thompson, since both the actors and characters are known for their physical comedy.

Tintin is a comic book adventure series from the 1930’s. More in the vein of Indiana Jones, where Pegg and Frost would be playing the bumbling comic relief sidekicks. There’s comedy, but it’ll be up to them if it’s in the same vein as their other movies.
