Sex And The City Stylist Says A Sequel Is Happening
I’ll admit it right up front. I saw the Sex and the City movie and I didn’t hate it. As a matter of fact I kinda liked it. I had never seen a single episode of the TV show, but they did the movie in such a way that I felt like I was caught up on what was going on in the first 5 minutes. My one major beef with the movie was that it was far too long for what it was. The thing should have been about 40 minutes shorter. But oh well.
Although the film didn’t make as much as early projections thought it would, it still made coin and is pretty much guaranteed to make more coin if another one is made. Ok, that means the studio will automatically be open to making another one. Then take into consideration that NONE of the Sex and the City stars have been able to generate any real career outside of the franchise, that pretty much means the cast will love to do another one… so it seems like a no brainer that another Sex and the City movie will eventually be on the way right?
Well… now even the stylist for Sex and the City is claiming another movie is on the way. The folks at MTV give us this:
Stylist Patricia Field singlehandedly changed the way women look on TV with her work on “Sex and the City.” She helped make Carrie, Miranda, Samantha and Charlotte style icons and household names. She’s since worked on bringing her unique sense of urban style to the worlds of “The Devil Wears Prada,” “Ugly Betty” and the upcoming “Confessions of a Shopaholic,” which opens on February 13.
But with six years of the “SATC” TV show under her belt, as well as the first installment of the movie franchise, Field can’t wait to get her hands on some more outrageous fashions if another “SATC” film production is made. “I do believe it will happen, because [creator] Michael Patrick King himself told me it’s gonna happen,”
So if you can’t believe the word of a stylist… who can you trust? Yeah, even without this little tid bit I think we’ve all known for a while that another SATC movie was inevitable. The only question is when.

this my frineds is not good news!
First things first.
“None” is a powerful word, John. I could point to Kim Cattrall if I really wanted to. Before Sex, she’s had many notable roles. After Sex (I know how it sounds, bear with me) she’s still active in TV films and cable series.
I’d like Chris Noth (Mr Big) to go do more TV films like ‘Bad Apple’ a few years back, now that he’s dumped Law & Order again recently…
But it’s all for naught because I don’t feel there is a need for another Sex & The City movie, unless, of course, they shift to Jennifer Hudson and perhaps a few more fresh faces. But one thing is clear to me: Sarah Jessica Parker’s character Carrie Bradshaw is one most self-centered, spoiled, annoying characters I have ever seen in one film. I never saw the series, but I watched the film.
And I found the film very pessmistic and the characters shallow. I failed to understand what makes Carrie lovely and irresistible because the character was so damned spoiled and self-centered…and I suppose people do have flaws, but y’know, I had a tough time buying into the plot. I started to get into the themes of forgiveness, but then when the main character is all but pampered again …and scenes, countless scenes where I would be shown an event, and then have the women roundtable tell all about it which was, to me, dead weight in a film.
Still… I have a tougher time buying a propsed sequel. There is really nowhere to go except for:
*Breaking up Carrie and Big (again)
*Breaking up Miranda Hobbes and her husband (again)
*Charlotte and her husband coming to be the voices of reason (again)
*Samatha’s cheating/sexual escapades.
How am I doin?
So- we are left with dismantling every **loose end** (most of which could have been spared for a sequel) and retreading on safe, familiar waters.
Yes, I watched soaps when I was young. I blame my older sister.
I cannot believe you guys. SATC is one of the most annoyingly stupid movies that not even my wife likes, and she liked 27 Dresses and all the other crap females watch.
Sarah Jessica Parker looks like someone stomped on her face 20 times and then got pushed down the stairs. Man I can’t stand her.
An annoying bunch of spoiled NYC harpies! Why not rerally make us feel pain and do a movie of “Thirty-something”???? Please God, make them go away!
P.S. I gave up bein’ biased for the New Year! Thyink I’m doin’ pretty good! LOL…
