New Astroboy Images Online

New Images of Imagi’s Astroboy hit the net and I think they look awesome.

I was always a fan of Astroboy in my wee years with those frustrating puzzles he did at the end of every show where he made a mistake while filing his report over what he learned that day. (Then never tell you the answer) But the show was fun, and Astroboy always learned a lesson while saving his friends. There was a good story and good action, so I would assume nothing less of the feature film.

First Showing has some seriously enbiggened versions of these if you want to take a peek!

  2. ya this looks awesome….i mean astro boy was the begining of it all in a lot of peoples eyes…..and it was seriously a show a kid could like as much as adults…plus this loooks very clean.

    1. Um, no. Disney Channel stuff this ain’t. The kiddy look is missleading, at least with the 80’s cartoon. For example, Astro’s first enemy, Atlus, ends up purposefully shorting his own circuits and dying after his friend, a female robot, becomes outdated and is dismantled. There is some seriously awesome storytelling potential here. Action potential even more so.

The original Japanese comic was written in the 1960’s by what is considered by many to be the father of Japanese manga. So please don’t compare it to Disney Channel’s crap.

    1. It’s not a kids film. It’s a kid-friendly film, and if it’s anything like the anime it will feature a very serious and emotionally charged plot, with lots of action and possibly death. It’s like Pixar’s films: they make kid-friendly films, not “kids films.”
