Superbowl TV Spots and Trailers
There are a lot of sports fans that are deluded into thinking the Superbowl was about some sporting event. Well boy was I surprised to find all my movie trailer premiers interrupted by football! I know we posted a couple on the fly yesterday, but here they are together.
I gathered all the Trailers and TV Spots here so you didn’t have to fast forward your PVR around all those beer commercials and sports to see them all. I follow each one up with a brief impression.
Race to Witch Mountain
Very cool trailer. Good to see Johnson in a role that is semi action but not “he’s the cop/solider/warrior” action.
Year One
Jack Black almost appears to be taking a back seat to Cera in this one. Odd.
Fast and Furious
Looks like some good fun. Trailer isn’t much we haven’t already seen though.
Monsters Vs Aliens
Some nice alien and monster movie tributes here. Film might actually be better than my luke warm appeal for it.
Land of the Lost
Still Farrell being Farrell, but it has Anna Friel too. Nostalgia factor seals the deal for me. I’m in.
G.I. Joe
The Trailer looks like its made of awesome. Lots of people up for bashing this, but it looks like some popcorn fun with some great action so I am good.
Star Trek
This one “feels” less Trek to me. I have been so on board with this for so long but this takes me a tiny step back. Still hot for this movie. Just not impressed with this particular trailer.
Angels and Demons
Looks a lot more exciting/interesting than the yawnfest that was the DaVinci code, so I may give this a chance.
Transformers Revenge of the Fallen
Any of these knock your socks off?

I saw all of these, but I must have missed the GI Joe one.
Can’t wait for the Revenge of the Fallen!
So ya, on the other sites like Hulu they leave out Gi Joe as super Bowl spot. Anyway so HD versions of all these trailers over at apple…
Because the Joe trailer was shown during the “pre game” show, not during the actual Superbowl.
Just sayin.
Oh yeah, I forgot about Return To Witch Mountain. There is a slight bit of nostalgia factor there as well, although I wasn’t the biggest Disney Witch Mountain 70’s movies fan.
Some of the commercials were more entertaining than the movie trailers. One of them actually made me think it was Crank 2 for a brief moment or an announcement of a Transporter 4 (Jason Statham and the Audi)…but I think GE summed it up with the CG Wizard Of Oz Scarecrow dancing on power cables…
“If I only had a brain”
Among the film trailers, Transformers wins.
cant believe they are making another lame ass fast and the furious film, what the hell are they thinking. The only good thing i see in that trailer is the scene w/ the dykes.
Well they went back to the original cast and ignored the rest.
This looks like the sequel that was meant to be in the first place.
For me, GI Joe wins this one. Never seen the cartoon; I just dig CGI people doing crazy surreal things.
TF2 was all right, but so many of the shots look like the same things we saw in the last movie, with equally shoddy camera-work.
where’s “UP”?
star trek, gi joe and transformers were the only good ones
the only non-trailer commercial that i liked/made me laugh was the doritos one with the crystal ball
but every year these commercials seem to get worse
and to think they paid 5 million $$$ for those stupid lizard commercials!?
Maybe its just me, but in the GI Joe trailer, that sounds like John Cena talking.
Gigan –
This is the only sequel to fast and the furious… The movie was super lame but AWESOME in every sense. This new one will all bring us back to our highschool days… i suppose, depending on your age. I hope this movie rocks your fucking socks off… WASHERBOARD STYLE!!!
lame but awesome, that doesnt even make sense and its not the only sequel remember too fast too furious and tokyo drift, like i said before the only thing i like about those films is the fine ass pussy.
