I’ve never hid the fact that I am extremely apprehensive about a G.I. Joe movie. I’ve been apprehensive about long before they ever announced the cast. I’ve been nervous about it because I just don’t think there is a way you can do a live action version of the film that will make people happy.
Fans my age (who grew up with the G.I. Joe cartoon) will be looking for a bad ass action/war movie with lots o’ violence. But they’re never going to allow that because the toy company wants to keep it kid friendly to sell toys. With something like the Transformers you can get away with decapitations and ripping bodies in half because they’re robots and that won’t get you an “R” rating. But you can’t do that with humans on screen.
Anyway, that being said, it looks like the prequel comics (much like the Transformers) are set to hit the shelves and the covers for them have been released. Personally I kinda like them… but that’s just me. These come to us via our good friends over at IESB:

Im not excited about this movie at all… it seems like they’re just trying as hard as they can to make another Transformers, rather than just make a good, quality action movie. I mean, even one of the scenes in the superbowl trailer looked just like they took the CGI skeleton from that final battle of Transformers and attached it to a GI Joe character.

I like the illusrtated on on the movie adaptation cover. The others look like movie stills that have been posterized. Is that a first glimpse of the Destro mask?
Yeah, I hope this rocks but those did not help…I think your right it’s gonna be to tamed to have any real punch. Hate it when greed gets in the way of a good flick.
Wow, this are just too lazy, they just took official production pictures and turned them into comic drawings, I honestly expected more from IDW
wow im actually interested in this movie after seeing that superbowl tv spot, and i like that cover w/ snake eyes or whoever the ninja is(i forgot)
