New Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince Trailer Online
The latest trailer for the painful wait to see the movie that is already done and in the can has hit the net. Of course I am talking about Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.
I just love how that trailer opens with the pensieve visuals shaping from smoky obstructions in the water into a dream scape imagery. That alone will make this movie worthwhile. The flashback moments in the pensieve were what made this my favourite book of the series. History is exposed, and things start to make sense. We also get a look into what made Voldemort the threat he is at this point and why everyone else is afraid of him.
In the series up until this point everyone refers to Voldemort as “He who must not be named” as everyone in the wizarding world is still terrified of him. Harry, being thrown into this world uses his proper name all the time. Not because he is so ballsy, but that he just doesn’t seem to think saying his name is all that scary. He doesn’t get it. And as the reader you also don’t feel that foreboding of the most terrifying magician of the Wizarding world.
It was this book that finally elevated Voldemort into the terror he is, and this evolution is also a parallel into his resurrection as he is becoming stronger and more a threat again. We see what everyone else already knows at the same time as he rises back to the same level of power he once had.
I so can’t wait for this chapter!

This trailer looks so sweet. I wish this movie came out last November.
Looks awesome. Can’t wait for Deathly Hallows though. I wonder at what part they’ll split it in half. I’m thinking after his encounter with Voldmort at his childhood home.
WHY Warner Brothers?!?!?! I don’t think I’ll ever get over them Delaying this. And the fact that they keep on releasing such kick ass trailers doesn’t help me forget either.
By the sounds of it, you’re just a bitter fanboy that is determined to hate them no matter what, for pushing the release date back. I can’t understand how anyone can think of this trailer as sucky.
Nevermind, I misread that, sorry.
slushie
i agree the trailer looks bad ass, but delaying a movie doesnt mean the end of the world.
damn im really impressed with how they are doing these films, the last two were excellent films. i wish more producers, writers, and directors would treat other adaptations with this much respect. bravo warner…
I’m sorry I know everyone loves these films, and I do too for the most part, but i can’t stand Michael Gambon as Dumbledore. I’ve always thought that he was the wrong choice to replace Richard Harris(who was awesome), and that he just doesn’t exhibit the balance between power and benevolence that Harris did. It’s probably just me.
I’m still going to see this…
You are right in thinking that Michael Gambon was wrong for Dumbledor. He was horribly cast. He is to loud and in your face. He practically smacked Harry around in Goblet of Fire.
Other than that the only problem with the trailer is they seemed to tone down what Malfoy does to harry on the train when he was hiding. I didn’t see any blood on Harry.
well i think they toned it down so they could allow it to get a pg rating, but i never read the books so i dont really mind that
Funny, most people I know who are just casual Potter fans didnt even know the actor was replaced.
I have no problem with him as Dumbledore.
yea i didnt know they were different actors til someone mentioned it to me
Harry Potter is the perfect example of a movie series that just gets better through time. This was also my favorite book in the series and I am very much looking forward to seeing the film.
Hell yeahs! Can’t wait.
