The love story isn't the central point of the story, it's just something that happens. It's like saying Harry's hatred for Snape is the main point of the Harry Potter books! It's not! It's just something that happens IN the main plot line. Sure it's essential for the end result and the second book, but it is most cetrtainly NOT the main plot.
