Transformers 3 Release Date Announced

Looks like the Transformers are hoping to mark their territory in a summer that looks to have more blockbusters planned than any in recent memory. Transformers 3 is getting a release date of July 1, 2011 and the second chapter has yet to be released.
Paramount and DreamWorks are forging ahead with “Transformers 3,” dating the movie for release on July 1, 2011.It’s the first official word of the three-quel. Paramount insiders have said that the dating of the pic isn’t an official announcement that the project is going forward; rather that the studio wanted to plan a stake in the date.
I like how they tease that the movie itself is not official, but if they move on it that’s where it is going to land, hoping to scare off any competition for the time slot.
I have no doubts that Transformers Revenge of the Fallen will rake in the bucks. And we all know that any movie that makes that kind of cash is always up for consideration of a sequel.
UPDATE: From Michael Bay’s website we get this :
I said I was taking off a year from Transformers. Paramount made a mistake in dating Transformers 3 – they asked me on the phone – I said yes to July 4 – but for 2012 – whoops! Not 2011!!! That would mean I would have to start prep in September. No way. My brain needs a break from fighting robots. — Michael
Moves it to my birthday… I can deal with that, if not the extra year.
Michael Bay has already come out and said that info is wrong, and that its supposed to be July 1st, 2012, not 2011.

Well nots not good to jump the gun. However, I cant see Revenge bombing at the box office. So I guess the studio thinks so too. If its not offical thou why say anything? Taking all bets on title and plot to the 3rd film!

I hate years between sequals so this is good news to my ears.
I’d much rather movies with a series in mind come out year upon year until they conclude rather than 2, 3 or 4+ years apart.
ya i agree but it doesnt happen much yet…i mean since lotr did the filming of all 3 at once im sure hollywood will catch on…but really ther isnt a lot of movies that catch’s movie execs attention like lotr.
i hope they introduce the dinobots in the third one

see thats what im talking about…..plus u dont have to go with he comic version…he is just to big but give him the scaled down robot form…u know 3 miles tall etc haha ….i love all the cartoon series as a kid but personally i think the science fiction of the series went to far…not really into these movies that much…i guess somethings catch peoples attention differantly

bay wants it to be 2012 not 2011. so i wonder what they will do. will they bump the date for bay or move on without him.
i hope they milk this franchise forever. i think they could – if the original cartoon didn’t kill optimus prime, i think it would have been a money machine for a long long time.

Just to correct Slushie Man, it’s July 4th 2012, not the first…He said he wants a year off, and to get the film out in 2011, he would have to start prep work in September…
Whoa, ease up Paramount. Remember that Matrix Revolutions, Pirates 3 and Spidey 3 all had release dates preplanned.

The first Transformer movie was good and where part two picked up was right on que now part three im excited to hear it is coming out in 2012 and i disagree with you AARON Transfomers is a action/animated filled movie there should be more than just three i mean look how much was made just between the first two.
Its coming out in 2011, not 2012. Just sayin.
