Garry Shandling Cast in Iron Man 2
Jon Favreau is picking up Iron Man right where the last one left off, and we will get to see Garry Shandling in those opening scenes.
When Jon Favreau described the first day of principal photography on Iron Man 2 as “It’s like we picked up where we left off” he wasn’t kidding. IESB has learned that the scene that was shot is a continuation of the final scene of the first Iron Man film, where Tony Stark reveals to the world that “I Am Iron Man.”
And it seems the role that Garry Shandling will be playing is a “guy in a suit” and earlier reports say he will be in that opening scene. Perhaps as a reporter.
No word on jut how dominate of a role Shandling will have, but from the sound of things it might be little more than a cameo. Perhaps not.
Sweet. I’d like to see some great banter between RDJ and Shandling.

No, but the scene at the end of the last film was a room full of reporters who had just witnessed Stark say “I am Iron Man”
Then credits roll. You don’t really see who was in the press crowds. Apparently Shandling will be among them in the new film.
Hopefully Shandling will have a bigger role than just a cameo. He’s one funny sumbitch.

The comic was never called IRON MEN. There always was only Iron Man.
You have NO proof that there ever was an IRON MEN because it never happened. Iron Man came out in Tales of Suspense in 1963 as IRON MAN, and has never been Iron Men

Shandling is far from a no-talent hack. Clearly you are not much of an Expert if you think that of Shandling.
He is a gifted and intelligent comedian. He may not be a superstar, but he is a charming and appealing guy on screen.
