Liam Neeson to be Zeus in Clash of the Titans

Two new cast members have been approached in the remake of the 80s classic Clash of the Titans.

Liam Neeson is secured and will be playing Zues, the King of Gods, and Ralph Fiennes is being tempted to take on Hades, ruler of the death-eaters… I mean underworld.

Coming Soon reports:

Liam Neeson and Ralph Fiennes will play warring gods in Warner Bros. and Legendary’s Clash of the Titans, the Greek-god epic directed by Louis Leterrier

We already know that Fiennes can pull off that slithering gothic presence of an evil magical master determined to take over the world. Fiennes hasn’t signed anything yet, but it sounds like a good fit.

Neeson is a PERFECT fit for Zeus. The man just oozes power and presence in his intimidating form, yet still manages to be completely fatherly and warm all at the same time. I could imagine no one else in that toga.

Still no word on Bubo, the clockwork owl.

  1. Excellent. He deserves work more often. And honestly, what greater honor can one receive than to play king of gods? Fits him perfectly.

  2. awesome news…liam is one of the best and well liked actors in the biz…cant wait!

are u serious about worthington….cause if u are this guy is the next big thing hands down.

  3. This is one movie I’m okay with a remake because if it does well we might be more mythology/sword & sandal flicks. The cast so far announced is wonderful and I hope Fiennes signs on as Hades. He and Neeson pitted against each other again would be fantastic!

I hope Bubo is included in the remake that little owl was my favorite as a kid.

    1. Meli,

I couldn’t agree with you more. “Clash of the Titans” is one of my favorite childhood films and I also think that it will greatly benefit from being remade thanks to the technology available in movie making today.

Hollywood just doesn’t make enough films about Greek Mythology; I can’t wait for this film project to be completed.

    1. The WB must really like his performance In Terminator Salvation to put his in a another big film because he really has not done anything. I think this is great some fresh blood in hollywood and we need a new action star.
