Aside from all the racist bs bein spewed around in here…. 50 cents acting is worth less than his name. The only way i could see this working is if he had a non speaking role and was just made up with prostetics to look hideous and destroy shit.

In reply to shadowfox. The fact that Jon Avnet was directing the movie should have warned you of its craptacularness. Casting isn't always the end all of a flick because a capable director should be able to get a decent performance out of an actor thats onscreen for a couple minutes. Gone Baby Gone had white rapper Slaine in it and Affleck managed to get him to turn in a good enough performance in his scenes.

In reply to shadowfox. what i meant to say was the concept had potential to be a great movie. most of us were waiting for this since heat. then at the end we get the news about 50 casting. then we knew the movie was going to be bad and in the end it sucked. which jon and most people here said it would. then the rest of my statement makes better sense

problem is that 50 has ruined many a good movie by having his named attached to it. if u all remember john and his righteous kill review.i have now come to a conclusion that u can not blame an actor for getting the job no matter how talentless he is. the fault has got to be the people who are pulling the strings here.this movie is so bad that if in a few wwks john tell us that they dropped 50 and replaced him with eddie murphy, i would actually see it as hope for this movie.hellz i would rather watch keanu reeves do mcbeth than watch this crap.

My friend and I rented Righteous Kill, he does good at playing characters that are similar to him in real life, that’s it. No real wide range of choices with his chops. It was pretty funny though seeing him getting shot from behind in that movie though.

You know, when I first read the headline and then the post, I was about ready to completely dismiss this as doomed and garbage. HOWEVER, after thinking about it for a few moments and seeing the first post in response, this could, potentially be amusing.

Don’t get me wrong, I agree with everything John said. And if they try to make this a legitimate movie, then yes, there is no way I will have any desire to see it. But if they make this into a gag/parody film, it could actually be kind of funny.

Seriously, think about it. You’ve got the great Whitaker (who was such a great actor in The Shield that i absolutely DESPISED his character) as the intelligent Dr. Jekyll and then 50 cent playing this horrible, rage-driven goon who goes out and shoots people and/or gets shot himself and lives.

Does it sound great? Not at all, but I’m not writing it off yet. I have my fingers crossed that this is either a complete feeding of misinformation to the public or a good ol’ fashioned parody.

In reply to Vito. just got done checking all 37 comments an seeing how JohnZDelorean(the tool) hasn't commented,even an apologie i guest he has reconsider throwing the race card so quick.movieblog john only post what people are to afraid to say at times...the truth.an in all fairness,u gotta know john(like reading other threads)he highly put up will smith,an forest whitaker,an many others.aswell as bashes many other actors.its about talent not race.
