Audio Commentary Availabile For Brothers Bloom
There have been a few instances in recent years of directors releasing an audio commentary track for their movie WHILE THE MOVIE WAS IN THEATERS. If I recall correctly, the first person I heard about wanting to do this was Kevin Smith (although I can’t remember if he actually did it or not).
The idea is you download a commentary mp3 file, put it on your music player, go into the theater and watch the movie with your own personal commentary running in your ear buds. Apparently they’re doing with for the upcoming Brothers Bloom movie.
Now, this is a cool idea… but the major drawback I can see if that I don’t want to sit beside a guy listening to an audio track who laughs out of nowhere at something the director says, or who has it loud enough that it’s disturbing my viewing of the moive. Maybe those wouldn’t be a problem.
Have you ever sat beside something doing this? Was it irritating or was it no problem at all?

That sounds genius. It would be the listeners responsibility, I think, to not disturb others. If they have seen the movie once with out the commentary, maybe they can sit in an area that is off to the side. Or see an empty matinee. Whatever the case, the responsibility is of the listener of the podcast just as much as someone else’s responsibility to shut off their cell phones.
its, a very interesting idea! one does run into a syncing problem, you gotta press play at just the right time. and how do you know wen exactly that right time is? will the commentary have a movie sound track under the commentary?
sitting next to someone, i dont think any headphones can be heard over the movie theater.
my biggest question is to why. r they so proud of their commentary that they just cant wait to release it?
