Year One Trailer

The other day I put up a post on the must see movies of the summer of 2009. One of the films I put on that list was the new Harold Ramis movie “Year One” with Jack Black and Michael Cera. There isn’t a lot that appeals to me about the movie on the surface… but if Harold Ramis is doing it, you have to be at least a little excited about it.

Well a new Year One trailer has hit the web, and honestly I’m a little underwhelmed. Michael Cera looks like the exact same guy again that he is in every fucking movie we ever see him in… damn I’m so tired of him. But the trailer does have it’s moments… there is potential I guess.

Check out the Year One trailer and leave your thoughts below:

It looks pretty good. I think if they kept the same premise, but went with David Cross as one of the leads it would be so much better.

I have a feeling this is going to be a box office bomb. My interest in the film is waning, but I still might see it. I think Jack Black is funny at times, but is too inconsistent to me. I do like Michael Cera, even though he has the same kind of personality in all of his movies. Still Paul Rudd and David Cross as Cain and Abel is going to be hilarious.

I think Jack Black is just as consistent in acting the same in all movies as Cera is. Not to interested in this movie. I will check it out DVD if I remember it exists.

Will see this for sure. Just looks good to me, even if Cera is in it.

  5. Vidsub says:

I love everyone in this movie, and the people making it, but i dont think it looks funny at all.

    Looks pretty funny to me

I Love “Tenacious D” and think that Jack Black is a Genius with all things MUSIC! I also like him in some dramatic movies and a few comedies. I am not a Cera fan. I love David Cross.

I wish I could ask them why they are involved with this movie. Is it that the money was too good to pass up?

The movie looks really not funny to me. I would much rather watch “The Life of Brian”.

I’ll skip this film. Maybe it is just a really bad trailer and the movie is awesome. I will more than likely never know if it is my cup of Tea because of how much I dislike the trailer for it.

best jack black performance is the jackel, when he gets fucked up.

jooohn! you’ve been so angry in your posts lately. michael cera is totally the same dude all the time, you’re right.

  10. Beck says:

love Cera and Black, but this looks like a bit of a disaster.

  11. Ultra Magnus says:

i woder how it will work…
two actors who play the same guy in every film. dont get me wrong i like jack black. but it seems like he acts the same in every movie. not the same person, but the way he delivers his jokes

  12. Darek-T says:

While I must say the trailer isn’t that great, it’s probably the best one for this movie that I’ve seen so far.

  13. BamKazaam says:

They should have hired somebody else that has a better chemistry with Jack Black.

  14. Mark says:

this actually looks pretty good,a lot better than most of the trash higher up on the must see movies post.

strange you find Cera so annoying because hes the same in every single movie.

Isnt Black the same in every single movie as well?

I know your reply was for John, but I believe the quality and style define how long exactly one can stand someone’s acting. Black’s style can only be described with one adjective: tenacious (sorry, I had to). Cera on the other always goes for the pathetic nerd who can’t do shit and never really, acts (as in the trailer 0:42 seconds for example). Which would you rather see in the future?
