I’m a huge Daniel Craig fan. To be he is the best James Bond to date (in my mind, he’s the first Bond who legitimately looks like he could kick your ass, and then steal your woman from you in the same heartbeat. THAT’S James Bond.
But he has proven he’s a lot more than just Bond (he was wonderful in Defiance last year) and continues to look to stretch his acting wings to fight the ever present danger of typecasting. Next up is a little horror movie called “Dream House”. Craig is in negotiations to lead the film now.
Basically the film goes like this… a man moves his family to a picture perfect little down and into a picture perfect little house… where OBVIOUSLY the ghosts of the murdered previous tenants dwell. Obviously right?

The main reason I take connery over craig though has nothing to do with physique … it has more to do with the fact that connery was never involved in a film as bad or as boring as quantum of snoring……the worst bond film of all time – and that includes never say never again.
don’t know why I am even arguing here anyway – roger moore is my favourite bond but I will concede both craig and connery would kick his ass.

With all due respect to Connery and Dalton, I think Craig is the best pure actor to ever occupy the Bond role. Consider Quantum. A lot of people didn’t like it, I think because it was an untypical Bond film–a modicum of action, of course, but not enough to suit them and too much self-reflection. And that’s exactly why I liked it a lot. This was the first Bond where we saw something like authentic awareness of the cost of being Bond; where we were forced to consider that Bond might be a bit human after all. Craig is the actor who pulled that off. I find it very refreshing.
I don’t see how anyone could ever believe that Quantum was a good Bond film. To say that it was original or authentic may be because it was not coherent or interesting. The fast cutting and poor directing really ruined this film. It’s James Bond not Jason Bourne!

You’re kidding right? Is the best shape of his life Connery (who I think just rules) NEVER had anything close to the physique that Craig has.

Actually Connery was a former bodybuilder who competed in the 1953 Mr. Universe tall division before he got into acting.
I agree Dragonslayer… I would go see Golden Compass 2 if Craig is in it.
Don’t get me wrong man, I liked The Golden Compass, it was just average.
Daniel Craig’s 15 minute role was the best part of the movie.
I really rate Craig as bond but hate to think of him only being remembered for that so glad he’s diversifying even if to me this movie sounds uninteresting. I loved him in Layer Cake and think he’s just what the Bond movies needed.
Cool. He’s a great actor and was fantastic in both Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace. He was even good in the slightly mediocre “meh” movie The Golden Compass.
Haven’t seen Defiance yet, but I plan to.
