Megan Fox as Buffy the Vampire Slayer
I woke up this morning to find the internet all a buzz on the newest unsubstantiated wild speculation rumour that Megan Fox is in lead contention to take on the role of Buffy the Vampire Slayer in the heavily fan opposed Buffy remake.
Cinefools has reported a rumor circulating the industry that Megan Fox is being considered for the title role in the Buffy the Vampire Slayer revamp that’s been in talks for just little over a month.
Megan Fox will always get cast in films because she is insanely hot. To me this just feels like stunt speculation casting rumours garbage just trying to draw attention to the already doomed Buffy Remake thing the Kuzui’s are trying to get off the ground. And I know this post just feeds to that wild speculation buzz, but I doubt this will add any credit to their efforts to actually get this made.
Two things to consider here. There is no studio attached. Buffy was huge. Even I am a fan. But it ran its course. And in its near decade long fandom dominance it still has a driving fanbase that is passionate, but still not big enough to support a feature film. What that niche audience wants is MORE Buffy, not a remake. Like Joss said, “The only people asking me about more Buffy are fans, when a studio asks me THAT is what matters”
Secondly, the Kuzui’s have never done anything OTHER than Buffy. They bought the script from a Young Joss Whedon, and made the cheesy film which Fran Rubel Kuzui directed herself. They were smart enough to bring Joss on for the TV series, and they produced it as well. When the series ended, it wasn’t like the Kuzui’s were suddenly a hot commodity producing and directing in Hollywood.
Of course they would be trying to get this brought back as it is the only property they own the rights to. If they do nothing with those rights for too long, they lose them.
With Megan Fox offering up such gems of wisdom like how she would defeat Megatron saying “make a deal with him, and instead of the entire planet, can you just take out all of the white trash, hillbilly, anti-gay, super bible-beating people in Middle America?” She isn’t scoring any points that her smoldering good looks don’t save her from.
There is a growing theory online that the Kuzui’s are pursuing this project to bluff the fans into a fever pitch to show the studios that they need more original cast Buffy (possibly in a feature film or TV movie).
Here comes the wooden stake jokes.
I’m not sure how this happened, but I’m already sick of Megan Fox and I’ve only seen her in one film.

If they are serious about the movie and they have hopes in bringing a up a new show of the buffy the vampire slayer series. they really need to think about who they are goin to represent buffy. From what i read on this web site the movie is goin to fail before it they even get to make the first shot.
Fox as Wonder Woman, Fox as Lara Croft, Fox as Buffy…. just sounds like one of a long line of dream casting by lusting men. Not that I have a problem with this, despite her acting I agree whole heatedly that she is a pleasure to mine eyes.
I think an 18 month Calendar with Fox dressed up in these iconic costumes would be hot.
Just don’t put her in the movies about them.

I would not mind her playing any of the roles. I just would not expect much from them apart from being eye candy.
Hollywood is always looking for the next it girl. Jolie carried that crown for many years and her popularity is waining now, so can you blame them for pushing a younger hottie onto the scene? They always need that one single female who embodies the Hollywood excess and hopefully who is a big box office draw.
Well, I dont see this new slayer movie doing so well without Josh Whedons involvement. Too many fanboys will pass on it for the lack of the Whedon control. I was never a huge fan of the Buffy series myself, it was too drama/soap opera-ish for me. I was a bigger fan of Angel, it had the right mix of action, drama and storyline that I enjoyed.
Yep, Jolie’s popularity is waning so much that she dethroned Oprah from the most powerful celebrities list in Forbes magazine. Not that I track that kinda crap, but when it pops up all over the internet when Forbes announce their top 100 it was kinda hard to miss.

…and if you must at least use Kristen Bell for the main character… whatever they decide to name her. Since it is meant to be a new Slayer and not Buffy from what I understand. Which would technically make the new movie called-

I don’t know, I just don’t see it. Besides, she has said before she wouldn’t do a comic book movie and Buffy isn’t much of a stretch from that, but of course nether is Transformers. Maybe she just doesn’t know or realize what a comic book movie is.
She has a role in Jonah Hex in 2010, a comic book movie.
Really? Ok, then either she’s just stupid or she never really said she didn’t want to do comic book movies. Or someone just talked her into doing Jonah Hex.
You ask me though, after the huge success of movies like The Dark Knight and it’s brilliant script, there should be very little these days, if any at all, actors and actresses not willing to take a chance on a comic book based movie.

LOL, damn, she really said that?! While I do agree, those types of people bother me greatly as well, I don’t think they should be “taken out”. Everyone has the right to be who they want to be and act how they want to act, well, to a certain degree.

Megan Fox is HOT-NO doubt but it is amazing how many high profile roles she has gotten on her looks alone. Transformers 1 and 2 and Jonas Hex. Thats some big time exposure for anybody in the industry.

Is it just me or does it seem as if there’s a Megan Fox casting rumor every week. So far there’s been Laura Croft, Wonder Woman, and now this. Personally I don’t care who gets cast, because I most likely will not go see it if Whedon isn’t envolved.

Celebrities say dumb things all the time. Fox just seems to excel at it.
You are just hurting yourself if you are going to throw out the baby with the bathwater. Hundreds if not thousands of people were involved in making this film a reality. It would be a shame for you to suddenly boycott the film and deprive you of all of their hard work (which by your statement I would presume you already enjoyed) just because ONE person made a dumbass comment.

I think Megan Fox playing Buffy would be a complete disgrace!!! Sarah Michelle Gellar is Buffy, and as pretty as Megan Fox is, she is nowhere near Sarah Michelle Gellar as far as acting or being Buffy.
Also the only way I would watch a new Buffy movie is if the entire cast and crew came back with it. Without all of them there is no point!!! I am a true fan and have been for years, and they can’t screw it up like that.
