Bill Nighy Joins Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows
Bill Nighy just freaking rules the yard. Such a phenomenal who can effortlessly transition from comedy (Shaun of the Dead) to drama (Valkyrie) to fantasy (Pirates of the Caribbean 2 & 3) to action/horror (Underworld). His portrayal of Viktor in Underworld made him my all time favorite movie vampire.
Now he’s moving to Hogwarts. Although he’s not saying which role he’s just been given in the upcoming Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, he did mention he’s been cast and that he’s going to be a good guy.
I was not a Harry Potter fan for the first 3 films… but I’ve grown to really appreciate the last few and find myself really looking forward to the next one. Now I can say I’m already VERY excited about the beginning of the final chapter. Nighy rules!

Fantastic news; Nighy’s a beast. While I have pretty mixed feelings about Pirates 2 & 3, he did an absolutely fantastic job as Davy Jones. Lookin’ forward to seeing him spread some more awesomeness in the next Potter film.
That’s the thing. Nighy’s a great actor, but I can’t tell how well he was truly acting as Davy Jones since he was under CGI the whole time.
My guess is Scrimgeour… At least, that’s what I’m reading… So excited!
He’s gonna play Luna’s father, I say. He would be perfect. That or Ollivander, the wandmaker (does anyone remember him? The wand man from the first film.

It has to do with the 3 deathly hollows…one was a stone, one was the invisibility cloak, and one was the wand….well they were fighting about that…fuck it im wiki-ing this so i can find his name…if i dont its going to bug the shit out of me…..

I am not sure about that, but I think Grindelwald is already casted. And I also don’t believe in Scrimgeour. They have cut this character out of the Half-Blood Prince (where he is important), so why should they introduce him in the Hallows (where he is not important at all)?

If I am not very mistaken then Scrimgeour has not one single line in the Hallows. All you hear about Scrimgeour is that got tortured and killed. Lupin tells that to Harry at Sirius’ old house.
Because all big roles are already casted my guess is this: Nighy will be the wizard into who Ron will turn after they drink the Polyjuice Potion. It’s just a guess, but that could be fun…

The bartender is Aberforth Dumbledore. He will be played by Ciaran Hinds.
Actually, Scrimgeour is an important character in 7. Hes the one who gives Harry, Ron, and Hermione (sp?) Dumbledore’s items that he left for them (Tale of Beetle the Bard, Light putter outter, and the snitch). Not necessarily the best role for Nighy to play, but the character is important non the less.

Nighy rules in everything, and agree with John about these movies so far. First three were meh, but decent flicks, and the last two have been great and Half Blood looks to only add to that.

Hey, people, Grindlewald has already been cast. Jamie Campbell Bower is playing him. Luna’s father has been cast as well. Rhys Ifans is playing him.
My guess is that Nighy is playing Gregorovitch, the wandmaker who make Viktor Krum’s wand, because the only information on who’s playing him is a rumor that Rade Serbedzija is playing him, but it hasn’t been confirmed.

The character doesn’t always have to look like they’re described in the book. No one in Lord of the Rings are as they are described by Tolkien, besides that they are a hobbit, dwarf, elf, etc. And the movies (even though I consider it one film that had to be split for running time) are the greatest films ever made.
I’m excited Nighy will be joining an already great cast, but when you look at who is left to cast he’s like to going to be one of the smaller supporting roles.

I’m casting my vote for Elphias Doge – he was the guy at the wedding in the beginning that told Harry all about Albus’ young life, as they were great friends. That is pretty much the only character I can think of that is a ‘good guy’ that has not already been cast – at least that I know of.
Does any 1 no who gave Harry the invisabiltity cloak in the 1st movie if im nt mistaken I think it was his dad? I am not sure!!!!!!

It doesn’t list this information as a rumor, so I think it’s probably pretty safe to say it’s true.
One thing you can count on with the Harry Potter films is that they’re bound to waste top-notch British talent. So don’t count on Nighy doing much.
Also, the past few films have been dreadful.
Well, no, that’s not entirely correct. James loaned the cloak to Dumbledore so Dumbledore could examine it and Dumbledore still had it at the time of James’ death so then he gave it to Harry.
