Time is speculative in comics. Kitty Pryde has been in comics since the 60s, but just a couple years ago she was old enough to go to college. lol

He has no leverage whatsoever. It was MARVEL that approached him and signed a deal, and it is the directors who tell him how to play the role. Jackson is playing along fine because aside from being pretty badass, he is also a geek. If he turned Diva and started manipulating the character and forcing issues, they could drop him in a heartbeat and put another actor in his place.

You know, like how Terrence Howard is no longer Rhodey. They seem really broken up about replacing him mid-stream, and he wasn’t even trying to throw his weight around.

Yes, I know it has been years since the re-invention of Fury with jackson’s likeness but in the scheme of things that is recent. Fury comics and Sam Jackson have been around a long time, duh.

I am not making this a black thing, I just think Jackson sucks, it was retarded for Marvel to ever use his likeness.

As far as Jackson goes you are wrong, now that Marvel is using Jacksons likeness as Fury he has leverage over the character, which is wrong!

Ditch Jackson and move on, is all I am trying to say.

Sam Jackson is only “recently popular”??? and they are “re-inventing” Fury.

Sorry. YEARS ago the Marvel Ultimates line re-invented their entire world in which Fury was black and the artist used Jackson as his visual reference, which inspired the cameo and subsequent role as Fury.

The actor doesn’t have power over the character, the character had power over the actor. They made Fury look like Jackson in the comics (long before a movie was even optioned) so he was a logical choice to play him.

You should annoy yourself.

Never liked Sam Jackson as Fury, it was Marvel who were shameless taking advantage of the recent popularity of Jackson and re-inventing and marketing him as Fury which created this mess.

They should cut ties with Jackson, revert Fury back to his once proud form and move on. An actor shouldnt have power over a comic book character, a good actor (not Sam Jackson) will tell you no one is bigger than the character.

Jackson annoys me.

Sorry, despite his recognition he is still BList. Events that try to draw in readership hardly qualify him as AList especially when the weakest XBook in the catalog gets the same numbers as his solo title does.
