New District 9 Trailer
A fantastic new District 9 trailer has popped up online. This one actually gives us some insight into the what the film is about and shows us a lot more of the aliens themselves and a glimpse of the visual effects, which as we all expected look very sharp.
Like I always say… don’t get too excited about a great looking trailer… The Phantom Menace may be the best trailer of all time… and look how that turned out. Still… a solid trailer is always a good sign, and this is indeed a solid trailer. I’m looking forward to seeing this:
The last one at least made me curious enough to go see it but now i am pumped. I’m a sucker for a good trailer even though I have been fooled before “coughwolverinecough”
The wolverine trailer made you think it would be good? Really? I thought they were terribly corny.
I got agree wolverine looked bad from the get go I never saw it because I knew it would suck.
It reminds me of something you’d see in Half Life 2. Pretty awesome.
Yeah I was thinking it looked just like a Half-Life 2 movie. Pretty f-ing sweet.

It looks fantastic. But if this ends up being anything like Cloverfield I’ll freak (and not in a good way).
i dont think it is being filmed like cloverfield. i think this is just the marketing campaign

It’s pretty original. The aliens are usually the antagonist in a film, but this time around I see the human race as being the antagonists. I hope the aliens kill a lot of people and get out haha.
um i heard it was the other way around…like there refugee’s playing the sympathy role while making biological and mechanical weapons.

I seriously dont know what happened to it…Im a huge Haloe fan and…it seems im the only one thats 100% ABSOLUTELY clueless on wtf is going on with Halo
I was pretty disappointed by this trailer. I was expecting the film to be a quasi-documentary on aliens then it turns out to be a generic action picture.
Cool, if this is half as good a film as it is a trailer it’s looking pretty cool.
This trailer was alright, but nothing really popped at me. The director was supposed to helm the film adaption of HALO. Lots of rumors of why that project got shot down, the biggest being the studio and microsoft had no confidence in Neil.
If part of it was Microsoft and the studio having no confidence in Neil, this trailer seems like a blatant slap in their faces.
No Kaneda, this trailer just proves that someone finally gave him a shot at making one of his personal short films into a full length movie. If he can PROVE himself, then someone might give him a shot at something bigger.
Microsoft passing on an inexperienced unproven director is just good business. There were not willing to take the chance on an effects artist aspiring to be a director.

I’ve got to say, this Neill Blomkamp fella might have been a good pick for directing Halo after all, the visuals sure do remind me of Halo just a bit.
Other than that, I’m stoked!!!!!!!!!

Thats what Im hoping. I would love to see halo be the first good video game movie. that or bioshock.

but is anyone else completely exhausted of the “fade in/fade out”, short clip trailer technique. it seems like that the only style of trailer coming out these days.
First off I agree with John in thst the Phantom Menace was pretty lame up until the Darth Maul fight in the last 30 minutes. Second is that this was a damn good trailer & a movie that I was only, possibly, gonna matinee on a morning I don”t work is now gonna get a full price ticket outta me.
AMAZING TRAILER! I am so stoked for this movie. Both the teaser and this full on trailer have been awesome and that doesn’t happen very often to me.
The alien designs are fantastic, the story is very cool and original, the action looks great, the effects are great, and the fact that it’s going to have mechas, oh ya!
You ask me, so far it seems to be no freakin’ wonder that Peter Jackson picked this guy to do a Halo movie.

Microsoft didn’t pass, 20th Century Fox and Universal walked away from the distribution negotiations.
I’m sure I read somewhere that most of the actors, in this, haven’t had any formal acting experience at all. If this is true then it just shows you that good films can be made from none actors. (I say “good films” but we have yet to see).
Bloody Brilliant! And the mere fact Mr. Jackson is going to Comic-Con to promote this…has to get you excited!
I thought this was thinly veiled commentary on immigration until this new trailer came out. I guess it’s a thinly veiled commentary about how popular aliens and mech suits are.

yeah, I’m still not sure about this one.
we all might be surprised and this could be a prequel to HALO. after all, everything on earth in HALO took place in south africa. the alien reminds of an elite…this could be setting us up for a halo movie.
