Comments on: Ryan Reynolds will be Green Lantern!

I think it’s too early to bring in such a major villianous presence as Sinestro. I’d prefer a build-up for the first film and the second one can introduce his betrayal of the Green Lanterns.

Works for me.

I have no problem with Ryan Reynolds, and I think he can lay off the wise-cracking. I’ve enjoyed him in more serious roles (the Amityville Horror remake comes to mind… forgettable film, but I remember he was suprisingly good in it).

Then again, do we REALLY want a green lantern movie which plays itself too seriously? I mean come on, its about a magic ring after all. I’m expecting something a bit more fun and lighthearted.

Lol i understand, its not that i dont want them to be in other movies

Its just that when you watch a movie 1000 times and then watch another movie with the same character its weird

Its just the way i see it, i dont like it but thats because of me, not because of the actors. Its me that watched spiderman 56 times and then saw seabuisquit

I dont even mind Reynolds playing another superhero, i just dont like the feeling of seeing two characters with the same face

Not wanting the same actor to play two different superheroes is understandable, but not wanting an actor (Jackman, Maguire, Bale) to do anything else but the heroes they play? Come on that’s just plain silly. Then they would be typecast and limited to the kind of roles they play. Cannot blame an actor for wanting to expand on the types of roles they play, makes for a much longer career.

ryan reynolds(hallowed be thy name) is my idol, and while i just started picking up Green Lantern books a month ago (coincidence?), deadpool is my favorite comic character. i think because they’ll be tremendously different movies, or at least they should be, i think it will work. reynolds can do anything so far, (action, drama, comedy) and maybe scarlet johanson could play deadpools love interest Siryn?? jk

I don’t know if I agree with your analogy there tzaylor. I can see it difficult to watch Jackman play another comic book character seeing as he is now typecast as Wolverine. But Reynolds isn’t really tied down to just one character so there could be hope for him. And if plays Hal as a serious character and not as a wise crack then it could work.

I have no idea but for me I think Sinestro would be the ideal first villan. Have him show Hal the ropes and of course betray him and have to fight in the end. It could work. You know thats pretty much the sum of first superhero films at times.
