I am excited and ... nervous. While the Lord of the Rings were fabulous books, and movies, the true genius was in The Hobbit and the way Tolkien captured the magic, fun and humour of the world he invented.

Tolkien wrote this for his kids, as a rollicking, mystical and humorous adventure, and I hope they manage to capture that.

I can't wait to see the 3 Trolls, they are my favourite scenes in the book.

I got your Clerks 2 comment, and it is a pretty funny quote.

"i honestly thought that the battle scenes in the narnia movies were much better. "

Battle scenes in Narnia better? Uh, no. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed both Narnia movies, but the battles were like the rest of the movie... clean and pretty. It's like everybody that fought had just had a fresh bath prior to battle, and those that had some dirt on them? The dirt looked clean. The battle scenes in LOTR at least were dark, dingy, and quite gritty making it much more realistic. But to each his own on this, it all comes down to preference.

"guys always won because of some reinforcement that came out of nowhere"

Well, uh, watch the movies again? They did not come from nowhere. They specifically showed how they were enlisted to fight and what they had to go through to get there. The good guys pretty much knew they could not win without help, so they STRATEGIZED by enlisting the aid of a force that could guarantee them a win if they could get these other forces to join their side. It's called war, and you don't just jump into it and hope for the best. You plan ahead and make your moves with strategy like a good game of chess.

"could the 2 main hobbits be any more gay?"

Who the fuck cares if they were gay or not? What does their sexual preference have to do with the movie being good or not?

Lastly, I don't know why I took the time to defend the movies. I enjoyed them and all, but I usually don't come out of the wood works to defend them. Look what you did to me!

I'm pretty excited about it. I absolutely loved the LOTR trilogy.

However, I always feel guilty for not having read the books...so that's always a downer in my mind.

lol, that was a quote from clerks 2

& no i dont think theyre as simple as walking to a volcano, however i did watch all 3 of them just to see how good they were & ended up not liking them. i honestly thought that the battle scenes in the narnia movies were much better.

also, i dont understand the point of the battles in LOTR, & i didnt like how the good guys always won because of some reinforcement that came out of nowhere(walking trees or the walking dead)

& could the 2 main hobbits be any more gay?! i honestly thought they were going to kiss at the end of the third one.
