Vanessa Hudgens to play a Prostitute in Sucker Punch
Vanessa Hudgens appears to be eager to shed her clean teen image on screen for something a little more racy, and with the minor scandle of Hudgen’s nude photos showing up online, she still cant shake her adorable pretty singer image.
Well maybe a 50s brothel whore would be a good role to shake it up? And that’s exactly what she’s going to be playing in Sucker Punch for WB.
“I’m playing a character named Blondie and it’s set in a brothel in the 1950s, so there’s not a whole lot of clothes. I think this is my time to really step it up and get to grow up. It will be somewhat different with the content and a few more foul words, but that’s the biggest difference”
Now other squeaky clean stars of the small screen who have found themselves trapped in their cutesy innocent typecast roles have attempted this forced recognition of them as a mature actor, but it rarely works out.
The first that comes to mind is Elizabeth Berkley who played the brainy tall Jesse Spano on Saved By the Bell. She wanted to shed her clean image and went head first into a major film role as a trashy prostitute dancer turned Vegas headliner in Showgirls, and while it did shatter our image of her as the straight laced braniac from TV, it didn’t exactly catapult her into fame.
Now I am as willing as any to see a 50s style prostitute at a brothel, and I think Vanessa Hudgens is pretty enough, but she might have been better off if she got into Twilight instead of going from cutesy kiddo to cooter shooter in one big bang.
Whoah. Just, whoah.
Bye bye Disney for her, this might hurt Disney I think, no not because of her, but what she decides to do here. And btw I can’t wait for Sucker Punch, just cause it will be awesome in the hands of Snyder

Showgirls, was plan and simple soft-core porn. Sucker Punch sounds like it may be more of an acting role (High School Musical was not acting). I wish her the best. If she can act, and she pulls this off it can help her career. If not this move now, she’s stuck in squeaky clean crap forever.
And twilight is just an extension of that. Vampire for the teens. That’s not acting.
You couldn’t be more on targe if you were blind folded. HM1-3 all sucked and Twilight was a bore. Where did all the actor go? And Where’s the real entertainment/art in making movies?
If this film any good, then I might like her better.
As long as shes nude.

I’m actually interested in seeing her in the movie. Not just because there is a chance she’ll be nude, but because I’d like to see her do more than just that Disney Channel bull crap.
I wouldn’t want to see her in Twilight either, but that’s a discussion for another time.

anyway the synopsis sounds cool i hope they dont water it down.
It’s a rumor that it might be PG-13. (in a Morgan Freeman-esce voice) Only time will tell….

PG13 makes more money. Its just business.
There is no reason for Sucker Punch to be R, while all of the previous ones you mention easily could be.
