Also not technically true. The R2 units are definitely a part of the R2 Builders group, which is like a sibling group to the 501st. I should know since I am a member.
This photo was taken when the 501st announced they were gathering their members for a lightsaber demo and a group photo.
How is this not a 501st gathering because some R2 builders (also members of the 501st) were there?

Those cute girls in the green and yellow dresses are the Princess versions of Sailors Jupiter and Venus. And there was so much steampunk that weekend because the Toronto Steampunk Society had a meetup and photoshoot. ^_^
