DeNiro and Norton’s Stone Trailer Online

A Trailer for the upcoming psychological suspense film Stone has hit the net.

FilmoFilia describes:

Norton takes on the role of a ruthless convict who is desperately trying to gain parole. A convicted arsonist, he enlists the help of his beautiful wife, carried out by Jovovich, to manipulate his correction officer, portrayed by De Niro, and entrap the lawman in a series of deadly psychological games.

I was intrigued in a story about a guy who spends his whole career helping those who most would think don’t deserve help, and having to face the harsh reality that even his help doesn’t change much.

I love DeNiro, and I would love to see him back in legendary form again. And Norton can do no wrong; that guy is amazing. Jovovich isn’t the best actress, but she finds herself in roles that she can do well and that is a talent in itself. She looks like a good fit here swimming with the big fishes. Its nice to see her a little rough around the edges. Makes her more attractive in my opinion.

But I am not sold entirely on this and I can’t put my finger on it.

  1. chris....the real one says:

i really wanna see this…huge fan of norton and deniro…if anything the movie should provide some good acting.

  2. Sam says:

I loved The Score, so it will be good to see them together again.

  3. Rachel says:

Casting Mila was a great idea, I think. She has such a strange and interesting presence. Norton tends to get saddled with such drippy female leads (Liv Tyler, ugh) so its refreshing to see him with someone more charismatic.

I know what you mean about being a bit uneasy about this one. DeNiro, with all due respect, has not been making the best choices lately. This could be an excellent thriller, like Insomnia, or it could be turgid and awful, like The Number 23. I have faith in Norton and John Curran, though. I think Stone will turn out well.

  4. Robert Forest says:

Yeah, what is it. It looks like it should be good … but for some reason it just doesn’t hit home.
