New “Percy Jackson And The Olympians: The Lightning Thief” Trailer
As we have mentioned here before, 
there is a new film coming in 2010 from Chris Columbus (the director of such films as Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Mrs. Doubtfire, Rent, Home Alone and several others) titled “Percy Jackson And The Olympians: The Lightning Thief“. The film (which the studio hopes to turn into a franchise) is based on the popular five-book Percy Jackson & The Olympians series.
The movie revolves around a young boy who discovers that he is actually the half human son of the Greek god of the sea, Poseidon. The story them follows him as he tries to find his mother and the stolen lightning bolt of the high god Zeus… all while trying to prevent a civil war amongst the gods.

Hey, I admit it, I actually think this looks pretty damn good for a soft type fantasy film. What do you think? Next Harry Potter franchise or just another throw away kids fantasy film?
I think film titles are getting too long these days.
Apart from that, it just looks like another ‘The Dark Is Rising’ to me, which is not good.
I liked the books, so ill see this, but I think they cast mostly everyone wrong.
ya like the person who plays grover doesn’t look at all like him like in the book when it rains his hair drops and his horn show grovers hair is more like a white guys long curled hair and he has a whole bunch of achne and annabeth has blond hair and is sporty with grey eyes the gurl in the movie has brown hair like wtf? at least read the book before you start creating the movie
Nah…the fact that it’s NOT “TDIR” automatically makes it better than that. :)
Doesn’t seem half-bad to these eyes, but with the nature of cinematic adaptation being what it is (taking in to account the ever-present compression of narrative, etc.), it’s more of a waiting game than a full-on foaming at the mouth if you ask me.
I prefer to remain an optimist, but past burns ARE slow to heal, are they not?
Is that the boy who plays Simon in GAMER?? If so, I’m watching this because he’s a cutie.
The lead actor is good and the director is a hit/miss but ya it looks okay. I think this isn’t actually suppose to be an official trailer played in theatres. It was attached with wolverine dvd.
I saying that because it looks a bit cheap and well there were hardly any money shots i.e. cgi
This is the exact trailer put up maybe a month ago, aside from the opening 30 seconds or so which revealed absolutely nothing.
i think the original title was “Percy Jackson, Son of Poseidon(Sea, Earthquakes and Horses) And The Mighty Mighty Olympians, Chapter One: The Extraordinary Adventures of The Lightning Thief*click here for full title* … obviously it wasn’t long enough LOL
well anyway didn’t know that Pierce Brosnan was in this, what a surprise.
The book/series is amazing as good as the Harry Potter or better perhaps. I hope they stay true to the book and not butcher it unlike what happened to Eragon.
Eragon was such a good book, too. It’s unbelievable how badly they messed it up.
But I still don’t think they should reboot the Eragon film until the last book comes out. If we know the whole story it will be easier to know what’s important enough that it should be kept in the film and what we can take out. That’s why I honestly think that the Harry Potter films couldn’t meet their full potential, as most of them were released before the creators even really knew what the ending was.
ummm It may or may not be good but all I know is that the guy who put that trailer together did a bad job. Just a bad trailer. Doesn’t mean I think the movie itself looks bad but that trailer sucked.
didnt yhu people hear that chris columbus did a lot of changes in the book and edited many to avoid the comparison with harry potter. i fnk they did a good job and every fng is goin to cme awt fyne
i think the movie will be bad
not just because of the trailer
but because movie directors are killing moviex that were meant to be good
look at harry potter 5 it sucked so badly i actually fell asleep,
look at spiderwick, eragon which by the way will not have a second ,movie
and you know when u say u could do a better job than the director but u dont think it could actually happen?

and by the way the actors are bad for this film they r either too old, or not fitting 4 their rolls
so just bu looking at the list of actors i know 4 sure the movie will suck!
