Damon has the build. I do think he is a good pick, but I know people will complain about his height.

I like AH in the role, I see a lot of him as Odin in Beowulf.

That being said, I heard an interesting Captain America casting idea today.

Jason O’Mara, last seen in Life on Mars on ABC as the Captain. Granted he doesn’t has the exposure of a lot of other prospective Captains, but he does have the build (unlike DiCaprio and Damon).

Anthony Hopkins is an amazing actor. He was so great in Beowulf and in Silence of the Lambs. He was even good in that shit film Alexander.

Hmm cool. I could see this being cool if he does a good job. He has indeed had a bunch of cheese roles but when he’s good I really like him.

Hopkins is awesome! BUT has his fair share of cheesy roles..

I hope they dont get super Shakesperian in the dialoge department, I know thats how all the Thor Comics were written(originals, anyway) but it kinda sucked having to read that stuff, THATS WHY THE AVENGERS WAS SO COOL cause it had Thor and he was the only one who talked like that…

Brian Blessed is great…but he’s a ‘B’ actor at best, wonderful in ensemble pieces, many of which I’ve seen. (Recently -for me, anyway- in Branagh’s ‘As You Like It’.)

Hopkins chews up scenery when not well-directed…which should be interesting under Branagh’s helm, because a certain bombast will be required as Odin.

My bet is that this choice will turn out just fine.
