Reynolds replaces Cruise in Motorcade

Don’t like Ryan Reynolds? Well get over it. It doesn’t look like RyGuy is going anywhere. But one place he is going, is a place that Tom Cruise isn’t anymore. Cruise’s role in Motorcade has been recast and Reynolds is the man to do it.

First Showing says:

Tom Cruise had about 7 potential projects lined up. One of them was Motorcade, an action thriller about a disgraced Secret Service agent who happens to be in the wrong place at the right time when the president’s motorcade is commandeered by terrorists in New York (it was originally set in Los Angeles). Variety reports that the project is switching actors – Cruise is out, Ryan Reynolds is in – and directors as well. Live Free or Die Hard director Len Wiseman is being replaced by Jon Cassar, best known for directing over 50 episodes of Fox’s series “24″.

Looks like Ryan Reynolds is becoming the new hardest working man in Hollywood. Which is odd, because he is hardly a new face, he just seems to be gobbling up all the A-List roles lately.

I don’t mind, because I like Reynolds in films, and I really want to see him dig into something meatier. Replacing Tom Cruise in an action thriller fits the bill.

Well, Ryan Reynolds IS the man, so I’m not shocked.

After all the good work this guy has done, who new he would get his big break by being Mr. Scarlett Johansen? Seriously, after that wedding all of the sudden he is the biggest star in hollywood.

  3. Corey says:

I have a man crush on Reynolds. He is a decent actor and is very funny. I am glad he is getting all the A-list roles.

  4. Meli says:

Awesome! I’m glad to see he’s finally getting some good roles after all this time. He can act when he wants to or a role asks him to, so hopefully this is one of those roles.

  5. Mike says:

Awesome! More Ryan Reynolds around, the better!

  6. Josh says:

This should work. Tom Cruise basically plays the same character in every movie and so does Ryan. It’s just a matter of whether or not you like THAT character.

I’m glad to see Cassar is finally moving to Movies rather than television. Seeing the action sequences in 24, it would be interesting to see the way he films this movie.

  8. Ifaz says:

I like Tom Cruise as much as I like Ryan Reynolds. But Tom Cruise is already one of the biggest stars so it’s good to see that Ryan Reynold’s getting this role.
