Stellan Skarsgård Joins Thor

I thought that Alexander Skarsgård would have made a good Thor, but that job is already taken by Chris Hemsworth. But that doesn’t mean the true norse blood of Clan Skarsgård will be absent from the film. Stellan Skarsgård has officially signed on, but lips are tight about who he will play.

Fused Film quotes:

Stellan Skarsgård is ready for a role in action movie Thor. Everything is still secret about the project and Skarsgård can not reveal what role he will play. ”They wanted me to sign without reading the script. That I refused to do. Then they sent one to me that was so coded that I could only print one copy,” said Stellan Skarsgård.

So who do you think Stellan would play?

It was rumoured that he would be an appropriate Odin when Alexander Skarsgård was rumoured for Thor, perhaps he still would be a good King of the Gods?

I thought Odin had been cast?

  2. War-Journalist says:

Brian Blessed has already been cast as Thor (I thought) and I believe it to be a brilliant choice. Next to his, Skarsgård has nothing. Perhaps Baldr the Brave, or one of Blake’s friends.
    I honestly cant say.

@War-Journalist, Blessed is still rumor at this point. Also Skarsgård would be too old to play Balder, hes about the same age as Thor, Loki and Sif in the comics.

    irving forbush.
he has to show up in one of these marvel movies.

No matter what, this is a good sign for the movie. Skaarsgaard is a great actor and he usually chooses great movies. Personally I think he’d make an awesome Odin if they style him right.

  6. He’s playing an anthropomorphised CGI Mjollnir. Think Lumiere from Beauty and The Beast, but angrier.
