Depp to offer Bail Out to Nic Cage
Here is the answer to the financial instability. Forget government Bailout programs, I say we turn to Celebrity Bailout programs!!
Johnny Depp is taking a personal interest in the financial woes of Nic Cage saying he will “take care of it”
To further prove that people with lots of money still care about people who used to have lots of money, The Daily Express reports that Johnny Depp may help bail actor Nicolas Cage out of his growing financial problems. Cage, as you may or may not know, is in some serious debt. He’s already had two of his homes go into foreclosure, he owes something like $6 million in back taxes and he’s currently suing his former business manager for $20 million claiming he sent “him down a path toward financial ruin.”
Apparently, as the article revels, Depp has a soft spot for Cage saying that it was Nic who recommended him to his agent and got his career on track. All these years he has felt in debt to Cage and now wants to do the man a favour and help him out of his current money problems.
As for Cage suing this former business manager, he might just have a case there. If he can sit the judge down and force him to watch some of his better films, then follow it up with his latest stinkers, his closing argument would simply have to be a raised eyebrow and a thrusted index finger at the screen!
He has proven himself capable, so why is it that he is in so many bad movies? Clearly its not his fault right? I mean it was clearly his business manager who said if he wants to be taken seriously he needs to have 6 multimillion dollar homes!!

It’s Karma from That Ghost Rider movie…..
Just makes Johnny Depp that much cooler!
Good for Mr. Depp….now if he could just teach Cage how to act.
Cage knows how to act. Depp just has to teach him to want to.
Call me naive, but I still have faith that some oscars do really go to the deserving actor. Cage’s performance in Leaving Las Vegas is one of my favorite performances in movie history.
Cage can act well, it’s just he hasn’t done it in a long time. I have faith that one day we’ll see the actor in Cage re-emerge.
We will in Bad Lieutenant Port of Call New Orleans. I’m counting the days to the release, it’s one of my more anticipated movies this year.
Not even an issue if he ’s got the chops.
Cage can bring it as good as any of the flavors of the month with his eye’s closed.
he just hasn’t had a REAL hit in a loooooooong time (and by hit I mean a Great movie not in weekend gross dollars ala National Treasure)
Just let Tarantino write a role for him in a kick-ass movie and He’ll be fine
Cage set the path to financial ruin himself. He made crazy purchases. His spending habits are partly to blame for his problems.
As cool as Depp is, this just makes him cooler.
Agree with Rodney, Cage can act. Just needs to be in good movies and have to start acting better.
O, and it was Cage who got the job for Depp in ‘A Nightmare In Elm Street’[Depp's first film].
My theory? Cage’s people put this rumor out there so Depp would be obliged to help him out!
Just a theory. ;)
And if that happened do you honestly think Depp would pay up? Or would he just say, “I didn’t say that” and keep the money in his pocket?
Depp said he would take care of it, and it might be to get Cage a role in the next Pirates movie where they have to over pay him because Depp says so. That pads his pockets and bingo, problem solved!
Might also make Depp stay in the franchise and not make Studio bosses shit their pants with his Will-I-Won’t-I dilemma :-S
He is the son of Francis Ford Coppla why does he need money from Depp? and why should we care?
Son or nephew?
Nephew…..Sophia Coppola’s his only famous kid, assuming he has another one…..
Cage’s performance in “Leaving Las Vegas ” was sub-par….AT BEST! It was a fine film, shot in 16MM with a brilliant performance by Ms. Shue. Mr. Figgis ( who also wrote the screenplay adaption was nominated in several catagories.) “Vegas” won 3 or 4 Golden Globes as well that year Everytime Ms. Shue and Cage are in frame….Ms. Shu destroys him, and this happens if you pay attention every time Cage is in a film with a much better actor. Everytime!. Look at everyfilm he is in that his performance was regarded as good, and see who his co-star was. Sean Penn, Richard Dreyfuss and the great Anthony Hopkins were also nominated for Best Actor that year. All gave much better performances in their respective movies. Mr. Hopkins version of Nixion was more than brilliant. Penn could have played Cage’s part with more conviction, better timing and presence. As Francis’s Nephew, don’t you ever wonder why he has never directed him in a feature? Pretty easy to see the answer. “Adaption” is another fine film with GREAT actors. Streep, the mighty Chris Cooper, Brian Cox…..they ALL blew him off the screen. Cage is not a good actor, and has proven it time and time again. ( OK, Valley Girl ….I will give you that one.)
What do I care if Nick Cage loses all his homes and has to only live in one residence like normal people do?
Owning more than one home is a luxury, a toy if you will. So I cannot feel sorry for someone who manages his money badly and relies on other people to do so. You can bet Nick Cage will get a whole lot smarter about his finances from this point on. Its sad when you place your trust in some people and they betray you, but it happens.
He’s not asking anyone to care, he is just making sure he doesn’t lose what he worked for. If part of that manager’s job was to pay to taxes and keep charge of the his financial property, then he should be sued because he wasn’t doing his job. You pay someone to do this, it is just like your tax agent screwing you over for the taxes and you lose your house because you didn’t pay it. You trust them to do a job and they should do it.
