More Images from The Sorcerer’s Apprentice

The Sorcerer’s Apprentice is a Disney Feature film that will be based on the segment of Fantasia of the same name. And now we get our first look at Nic Cage and Jay Baruchel in the film.

Cage looks as eccentric as usual and perfect for the sage and stern Socerer. If the film follows the plot of the Fantasia segment (without Mickey) then the plot would just be about the errand boy who is tasked to clean up the lab, and gets curious making a huge mess unleashing magic until his master returns to set it right. But that won’t be what happens here. Rama Screen lays out the synopsis for us:

Walt Disney Studios, producer Jerry Bruckheimer and director Jon Turteltaub, the creators of the “National Treasure” franchise, present “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” — an innovative and epic romantic comedy adventure about a sorcerer and his hapless apprentice who are swept into the center of an ancient conflict between good and evil.
Balthazar Blake (Nicolas Cage) is a master sorcerer in modern-day Manhattan trying to defend the city from his arch-nemesis, Maxim Horvath (Alfred Molina). Balthazar can’t do it alone, so he recruits Dave Stutler (Jay Baruchel), a seemingly average guy who demonstrates hidden potential, as his reluctant protégé. The sorcerer gives his unwilling accomplice a crash course in the art and science of magic, and together, these unlikely partners work to stop the forces of darkness. It’ll take all the courage Dave can muster to survive his training, save the city and get the girl as he becomes “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice.”

I like that it will be a modern day Magic story. Sometimes I wish that such forces did exist, as it might explain some things, but its fun to fantasize that there is a hidden magical world under the surface of our own.

I am just preying that the good Nick Cage shows up. I wasnt excited to hear his name when it was added to the project.

  3. Dragonslayer says:

I’m just hoping that Monica Bellucci will show what’s under that dress…but not gonna happen…shame…

To Anti: There is a good Cage? “Valley Girl” being the apex ? And have to agree 100% with Dragonslayer!

    • Ifaz says:

Yeah there is, the one who won oscar and a gave us a lot of great movies.

    • Anti-Septic says:

Sure, Nick Cage has his moments but they are far and few between nowadays. With movies like The Rock, Con Air, Face-Off, National Treasure and etc. you cannot deny that he has had some hits. Whether or not you like him personally is another matter entirely.

I also agree that Monica is about the only bright spot to make me see this movie.
