Concept Art for Marvel’s World of Superheroes Theme Park in Dubai Online

The United Arab Emirate Al Ahli Group has joined forces with Marvel Entertainment to create the ultimate superhero themepark powered by the Marvel Universe Library.
Some concept art of the propsed park have been made available online for what will be the park’s 2012 opening.
Details are thin aside from these images, but word has it the three major rollercoasters will be themed “Flying with Spidey”, “Fantasticar” and “X-Men: Danger Room”. Also since it is in Dubai it likely is built on a man made island that is floating on stacks of world currency.
The art looks amazing and the theme sure gets my geekpump thumping, but it would be a costly trip just to go to a themepark. The grounds look modest despite the flashy imagery, but it could be worth it for the experience.

Actually, Dubai is in major financial trouble right now. I would be very surprised if this actually gets built. There are literally dozens of major building projects that have been put on hold indefinitely.
So enjoy the concept art, because that’s all it’s likely going to be – a concept.
I was going to say the same thing. They imploded faster than Las Vegas.
Won’t happen unless Dubai can fix the financial issues going on there. It really shouldn’t be wasted on Dubai anyway. I don’t have figures, but I’m pretty sure the most Marvel fans in teh world live in the good old USA. Why not put this thing in Florida or some place like that?

It’s pretty random to have a Marvel theme park in Dubai though.
Interesting, but I was hoping that they build in other part of Asia, like in China, Hongkong, Japan, S. Korea or even Singapore. It’s more affordable for us on transportation alone.
