Iron Man 2 Teaser Poster Online

Right on the heels of seeing the teaser image of War Machine in Previews magazine, we get a release of the first Teaser Poster for Iron Man 2!

I love the pairing. I don’t think that War Machine will be the Villain as some presume, but he certainly will be opposed to Stark in some measure. The tensions built up from the first film put Rhodey and Stark as best friends, but of different viewpoints.

I think that Justin Hammer will be a Villain for Stark, and Whiplash will be the Villian for Iron Man. And War Machine will play somewhere in the middle. An ally who disagrees kind of thing.

This looks like a Michael Bay movie poster, minus explosions.

  2. Colin says:

    Not bad.

It could be worse, his suit could have nipples on it.

Personally.. one highlight of this is seeing Scarlett Johansson in a tight-clad suit… oh my!

  3. Brian says:

I am thrilled they’re putting War Machine in this one. He was one of my favorites as a kid.
You’re right about the opposing viewpoints thing, I bet they’ll battle it out at some point though, you can’t put two of these suits in a movie without having them fight.

  4. Matt Keith says:

War Machine looks fucking evil in that poster.

  5. War-Journalist says:

This kind of reminds me of the Spider-Man 3 posters. Except the darker version has a minigun on his shoulder, and there’s no sense of overwhelming dread.

  6. Algoresnuts says:

Looks like a cover for a video game.

  7. V says:

War Machine had red eyes often but they do make him menacing.

Again my prediction on his villany also says that he will come around by the end of the movie. I’m sticking to it. He will be similar to Green Goblin to SM3 me thinks. He will initially be a barrier to Tony since the teaser trailer has always stated that the government wants to control Iron Man and then by the end something Hammer or 7 rings does will require a team up.

I can also be totally wrong, but it is the easiest script to bust out that provides plot extension.

No way Favreau gonna make that many villains in one movie. He’s not an idiot. War Machine will not be evil or do any evil things. He will probably have the attitude of wanting to blow everything up without thought but be like the Green Goblin? Eh… me thinks hell no.

      • SlashBeast says:

        He already has multiple villains.

      • bjon86 says:

right he does have multiples villains already soooo…. why would he add ANOTHER one??

      • SlashBeast says:

        Because he’s off his rocker?

      • Gerlach says:

I think it’s kindda obvious. Rhodes is more ‘gouverment’, and at some point War Machine will be forced to contain Iron Man, they’ll fight it out, come to an agreement and join forces against the bigger evil.

      • bjon86 says:

Look, I will say this right here and now that when this movie comes out, it will NOT be clouded with a bombardment of villains. I mean, have any of you even watched or read Favreau’s interviews on Iron Man 2? The guy CLEARLY states that he’s not going to put a shit load of villains in one movie because that mistake has been made several times before.

Ya know what? I think some of you just LOVE to complain. Can’t you just for ONCE shut the hell up?! Stop trying to FIND something wrong with a film you actually know NOTHING about, you haven’t seen shit on and haven’t gotten any REAL details about. I mean, you look at a damn POSTER and make all these inSANE assumptions. It’s fuckin ridiculous. Whatever, when the movie comes out, as ALWAYS, you’ll on your knees in praise.

        The irony is delicious.

      • Rodney says:

        Complaining about the complainers.

        I agree. That’s pretty ironic.

      • V says:

We will see this is all very early speculation

  8. 420BAND says:

This is going to be fun!

calm down peeps it just a friggin poster.

how bout an old comic cover featuring both as the movie poster, now that’ll be cool(and different for a change)

  9. 3R!C says:

    It looks badass!

How can you say War Machine looks evil? With their posing, it looks like Tony is gaurding the front while Rhodes watches his back. At least, hopefully, people in the audience won’t think that’s Mickey Rourke in the War Machine suit.

  10. Pman-67 says:

I like the fact that War Machine ill be in the movie, but have some reservations about the sequence of events. I thought they were building up to the Demon in a Bottle storyline. During that storyline Jim takes over as Iron Man because of Tony’s alcoholism. It’s not until after Tony reclaims is role as IM does Jim become War Machine. I’m not complaining but that would have made a great 3rd movie. Tony gives up the armor, Jim takes over and get’s his ass handed to him by the Mandarin. Tony reclaims the armor and gives Jim the War Machine armor to help him with the Mandarin and whatever side villain they’ve thrown in.

    • Matt S says:

Yeah, I don’t really think that they’re going to build towards “Demon in a Bottle” much at all in this one anymore. (by the way, that story arc you commented about could have made a great second and third film in this series, you’re right)

I know a lot of people will disagree, but I doubt they will touch “Demon in a Bottle” any time soon after the Disney buy out.

  11. Ryan W says:

    Epic poster … !!!!!!

  12. Matt Keith says:

Algorsnuts is just a troll. Don’t waste your time with him/her.

  13. Jake says:

Um, what are you talking about? It’s a picture. Of course they want to impress upon us visually that he’s bad. Any less wouldn’t be art, now would it?

  14. What’s wrong with this teaser poster?
Nothing except for the missing frame around it and the fact that it’s not hanging on my wall.

  15. Kaneda979 says:

Awesome poster, one of the best I’ve seen. I want it so bad, want to see this movie even more though and this poster only adds to that. Just like what a good movie poster should do.

    Can’t wait for May.

  16. spiderfreak182 says:

i think i kind of agree with him, it looks like ironman and warmachine decided to go to one of those family portrait places to take their “cool” picture. and its very obvious their two seperate pics photoshoped together without even attempting to give ironman shadows casted by warmachine. but watever im ok with it, gets the job done

  17. SlashBeast says:

    I surprisingly agree.

  18. SlashBeast says:

    Looks cartoony.

  19. Md says:

This is one cheap ugly poster ….

  20. me says:

i think the fact that people loved this stuff as kids, and/or are really into the foundation from where these movies spawn from clouds our vision and warrants us seeing these things.
I still can’t get past the fact that all these are, the Michael Bay films, the comic films, they’re all just stolen ideas, meshed with explosions and CGI.
The nostalgia is why we like these films and tolerate remake after remake after reboot. I believe that as we look back several years from we’ll realize the mistake and the glossiness that makes us all want to go see these movies, as the same we take a look back in the present day to marvel at the originals that these are all based upon. I for one envision telling my kids that all of these spiderman, iron man, transformer, g.i. joe’s are NOT worth watching…………..rather directing them toward the digital copy of the actual cartoon, or the copy of the comics.
And a little bit or advising them, daddy did however make it to each and every one of the high-energy, high-effect re-do’s! hahahaha. I’ll never learn…

    • Rodney says:

I like these films when they are truly great films. Nostalgia might get me a tickle when I hear about Transformers being made into a movie but it was the movie that made me love the movie.

Was it perfect? Far from it. But it was a fun movie.

IronMan was a GREAT movie. Nostalgia had nothing to do with it. I am a big comic fan and had a fringe awareness of IronMan, but I never collected it. I wasn’t a “fan”

The movie was good because it was a good movie.

Nostalgia might build anticipation, but the movie decides whether I like it.

      • PMAN says:

Rodney, How can you call yourself a big comic fan and have only had a “fringe” awareness of old shell head? I’m ashamed of you man! I’m just kidding buddy, I’ve been reading comics for over 25 years and there are many characters that other people love and I know very little about or have never had any interest.

      • SlashBeast says:

I’ve read tons of comics and I’ve never read Iron man, and I still don’t want to.

      • Bernardg says:

I’m also a big comic fan, and still waiting for a good Wonder Woman movie here…. or maybe just a movie about Emma Frost?

      • Rodney says:

I didn’t say I didn’t read it, just that it wasn’t ever on my pull list.

When there was an interesting story arc I have picked up a few issues, and I got the Bottle trade and the connecting Heroes Reborn stuff (even though the art was painful)

My awareness came from decades of collecting comics, and the character was present, but his title didn’t make my list.

      • Pman-67 says:

I feel you Rodney. I’ve always been the same way with Daredevil. I’ve picked up here and there during certain story arcs, but for the most part I’m never been able to get into the character for the long haul.

    • bjon86 says:

Who CARES if its an “original” idea or not?? Is the movie awesome, is it okay or does it straight up suck? That’s all that matters. There hasn’t been a completely “original” idea in centuries. Everybody borrows from something. Every movie pitch goes something like “it’s like this movie and this movie put together but with this actor and this actor in the leads and with more explosions.” It varies because not every movie has explosions (obviously), but you get my point.

What? Are you saying that you can watch these movies and just absolutely REFUSE to like them because they are based off of a comic book?? What about biography films? hm? Yea… exactly.

  21. 420BAND says:

    Me:

So by that notion Jaws was a stolen idea and made into a non-worthy movie?

I kinda get what your saying but…..of course its nostalgia!

what kid didn’t want to see his/her favorite hero on the silver screen.

shit, even Handi-man got his own movie

I have all my comics in longboxes stored away and currently leaving some of them around my son’s room to see if he’ll gravitate towards them. He see’s the 60’s Spidey cartoons and 60’s Batman episodes as well as some current age appropiate stuff. BUT he loves the films just as well.

    feelin’ ya

  22. Lily says:

Is anyone else seeing a Terminator in this poster? I know I’ll get shot for this, but really…

  23. Chris says:

That’s better. I actually like the War Machine suit here. I didn’t like the glass helmet on the toy.

  24. Vic De Zen says:

Nice, I’m stoked for this! I think adding War Machine to the mix will make for an exciting movie.

  25. T-Man says:

So, yesterday I look up Iron Man 2 on IMDB. Looking at the cast, I totally forget that Olivia Munn was appearing in the movie. As mentioned before, It’s probably just for a small role.
Beside her name is the two characters she’s playing:
    Melina Vostokoff / Iron Maiden

I look up “Iron Maiden” (Not the band mind you) and discover that it is a female version of Iron Man.

    Anyone care to explain?
