Cheap Trick Transformers Theme Online

Oh the days of Big Hair Glam Metal bands like Cheap Trick, who let you know that I want you to want me. It was right in the middle of this era that the first feature length animated Transformers film came out. And for me it rocked! John, the dirty blaspheming ape can’t stand the movie, but since my namesake got to become the unsuspecting leader of the Autobots, and Rodimus became a nickname of mine all through highschool.

Shutup. It was cool back then.

You know what else was cool? The music. And while Stan Bush’s “The Touch” is still a heartfelt favourite of mine and the groovy metal updated theme song by Lion still gives me chills elevating the simple tv series to the big screen where robots can cuss.

Stan Bush made a few publicity attempts to get the attention of Paramount to get him on the Soundtrack but it just isn’t happening. Now Cheap Trick has offered up their version of the Transformers theme, and I think it wouldn’t have even been cool back then. I will stick with the one on the Transformers: The Movie Soundtrack thanks!

Btw let me guess, this plays at the end? That would be cool, but switch to LP at the end again please!!

    Again. It’s good.

  2. iknewthiswouldhappen says:

  3. Joey says:

    god damn…..just god damn

    awful

  4. Today is a big THUMBS DOWN to Rodney.

    Cheap Trick “glam metal”????!!!

    Boooooooo!!!!!
    Boooooooo!!!!

The Dream Police are inside of Rodney’s head!

  5. Billy Hunt says:

    Rodney. Wrong!

That is the best Transformer theme song ever!

  6. nevada smith says:

Sorry Cheap Trick could never be described as Big Hair Glam Metal…they were and always will be power pop.

  7. nevada smith says:

Just listened to the song and it’s already given me more entertainment than the first Transformers movie.

  8. Jeff says:

The theme song from the animated movie in 86 (performed by hair metal band Lion) was and continues to be the BEST Transformers theme ever. Period.

  9. Travis says:

I know quite a bit about Cheap Trick and music of all eras, not quite enough to call myself a connaseiur of this specific topic, but from what I know (which is enough) and for whom I’ve asked, Cheap Trick was never a metal band in any way shape or form. This is based entirely on what I’ve heard from many music fans while I went through my slight eighties picking. Just sayin’.

  10. Johnson says:

Transformers the animated movie has the best soundtrack ever.

Glam Metal…Cheap Trick??? Rod your off by a decade. Cheap Tricks big hey day was in the 70′s. Glam/Hair metal is from 85-90.

Anyway, yes the track is horride. I prefer the Lion version (and yes Lion would qualify as a Hair Metal band) Sad thing is I like Cheap Trick but this is just a bad version of a song that did not need to be remade. Bring back Stan Bush, he has an updated version of The Touch on his latest CD and he even did a remix of it which can be found on Youtube…

  12. Microcuts says:

wtf is wrong with the Lion version!!!!???? It would still work! mutemaths version made me want to cry too

  13. nbakid2000 says:

As a big Cheap Trick fan, I happen to like this version. Is it great? Absolutely not. Is it interesting??? Yeah it is.

BTW Rodney….Cheap Trick IS power pop. Not metal in the slightest. Or glam.

  14. Ross Crosby says:

Maybe it’s just me , but i hear a bit of their song Surrender in this song……either way it’s a good song.

  15. Aaron says:

They should just have a modern-day power metal band cover the old Lion version. That would keep the old fans happy. Linkin Park had no place in a Transformers anything, their song doesn’t even have anything to do with Transformers. Maybe when the third movie comes out it will have Unicron and they can bring back the old theme. They need to ditch this “hard rock” thing they have going on.
