Third “Chronicles Of Narnia” Movie Gets 2010 Release Date

— Posted by John Campea

The third Narnia movie “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader” has itself a release date. December 10th 2010.

This is actually pretty interesting because just a couple of months ago the future of the Narnia franchise seemed very much in doubt. The second Narnia film, Prince Caspian, was pretty good but not nearly as good as the first film (in my opinion anyway) and it also made a lot less money. That’s not the trend a studio wants to see, so Disney dropped the franchise and parted ways with Walden Media over it.

Fortunately for the Narnia franchise Fox came in and picked the property up, and now we’ve got an actual release date.

I’m a fantasy nut, so to me this is good news. I’ve enjoyed the Narnia films so far (especially the first one). It’ll be interesting to see how the next film turns out… especially considering Fox is now involved

  1. …but I guess the beauty of the Narnia series is that they doesn’t have to be filmed chronologically. As for Harry Potter, there wouldn’t have been another option because the story is continuous through all the books. The downside is that the children actors grow up so fast and look different, so the films will have to be shot quickly! lol

  2. I haven’t read all the books, but I did love LWW, both the book and the film. Very true to the book, which is the most important thing for me. I haven’t seen the other films though, but I will go get prince Caspian DVD! And looking forward to the other films as well. Is it true that Susan and Peter will be re-casted for the new movies? Why is that? I absolute hate it when they do that stuff, regardless of what films it is. They will never be able to find people that look enough like them. And then I won’t buy it, and sit and irritate myself over it…

  3. I’m hoping they do the whole series (that includes the magician’s nephew).

As for my least favorite…I disliked the silver chair and the horse and his boy. I’m not sure why exactly. Maybe because they didn’t have the children….I”m not sure. But I still hope they make all of the movies.
