Weekend Boxoffice Report – June 11th-13th

With two remakes dominating the boxoffice it would seem that kid sized high kicks are enough to beat out bazookas and flying tanks.

Boxoffice Mojo reports the Estimates:

The Karate Kid – $56,000,000 – Opening
The A-Team – $26,000,000 – Opening
Shrek Forever After – $15,800,000 – 4wks
Get Him to the Greek – $10,100,000 – 2wks
Killers – $8,170,000 – 2wks

I wasn’t surprised to see The Karate Kid win out over The A-Team any more than I was not surprised to see these two on top.

What did surprise me is that Killers, still clinging to a top five spot nudged Prince of Persia out of standing.

And while well off our charts, I thought it was amusing that Marmaduke is holding on to a seventh place, edging out Sex and the City – both in their third week.

Just sayin.

So what did you see this weekend??
