A teaser trailer for Casino Jack is online, and it stars Kevin Spacey as a big shot political lobbyist who gets in over his head when deals go bad.
I was about to make a “less heartfelt Jerry Maguire” reference but then they did the Show Me The Money chant in the clip. This fits Spacey like a glove, and I love to see him in this kind of manipulative role.
This looks pretty good.

I saw this at Cinefest in Sudbury and it was fantastic. Spacey was in top form, along with Lovitz in a comical turn as his shady business partner.
The best part of this story is that it’s true, and it exposes some nasty truths about money, power and influence in Washington that will suprise many outsiders of political culture. The film doesn’t paint Abramoff as a victim, rather as someone who is very much guilty, but it does demonstrate that many in power turn a blind eye to this sort of behaviour as long as they they get what they want.
The Director did an admirable job in setting up shots to tell an effective and interesting story but otherwise it was pretty standard stuff, technically speaking.
It was great to see Spacey really sink his teeth into this role. This is a must see and I would wager that Spacey will be getting a Best Actor nod this year.
Kevin Spacey always wins in my book. Plus political dramas are always dope. I want to see the documentary as well.
