It is not a surprise that they are already working on a sequel to How to Train your Dragon and the first step to succeeding is to secure your talent.
And all the required cast have signed to reprise their roles in the sequel, and half of the writing/directing team is back with the other half producing.
Jay Baruchel, Craig Ferguson, America Ferrera, Jonah Hill, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, T.J. Miller and Kristen Wiig will all reprise their roles. While Dean DeBlois and Chris Sanders co-wrote and directed the first film, DeBlois will take the reigns solo on both fronts this time though Sanders will remain onboard as an executive producer.
This was one of the best movies of the year for me, and while I figured it would be a good movie I was blown away by it.
I am encouraged that a sequel will have the same voice cast and director. It is disjointing to see followups without the same voice cast. If this film suffers in the sequel it won’t be from that.
cant wait for friday to come to so i can get this on blu ray i really loved this movie and did not expect to like as much as i did
ME TOO! Friday (U.S.)release for some reason with this one(wanted it on Tuesday) This movie caught me by surprise as well, the trailers didn’t sell me at all, took my son and was Blown away.
Sequels after such a great start out the gate are scary, but that’s what we said when a little sequel called Toy Story 2 came out.
Clearly one of the best animation in 2010. I really hope they won’t mess it up with an ugly sequel. Judging from the second book’s plot, there won’t be a need for Butler to come back?
Do they say when the sequel will come out?
I didn’t see Gerard Butler mentioned…
I really enjoyed the first one, and while I will approach a sequel with an open mind, part of me is scared that they will screw it up. The original stands so well on it’s own.
