Ashton Kutcher talks Valentine’s Day Sequel

The ensemble film of intertwining stories of romance on Valentine’s Day was a pretty decent film. Not fantastic or anything, but pretty good. I enjoyed most of it. And now word has it that they are making a sequel called New Year’s Eve.

Ashton Kutcher has been approached to reprise his role, which makes sense. Despite this being an ensemble film, much of it revolved around his character and the flower shop he owns.

CinemaBlend says:

While promoting Killers, which doesn’t hit theaters in Australia until next week, Kutcher explained, “They’ve talked to me about it.” He added, “But I haven’t read the script yet … It’s script dependent.”

I like to hear that he is at least looking at the script before attaching his name to the project so easily.

If he does get involved, the core characters revolving around his story are likely to return, possibly even Jessica Alba (who starts Valentine’s Day by rejecting his marriage proposal) coming back to haunt him and threatening his new relationship on New Year’s Eve.

  1. Probitionate, I did not see this film, but you just reaffirmed my one rule about Hollywood romance/chick flick films with your review.

If the poster has a montage of more than 4 actors’ heads and they try and do something fancy with them (like putting them inside of a heart! GAG ME!) then the movie will be crap!

My rule still holds up! YES!

  2. Oh, good Lord… This film was execrable. I mean, normally when I post my film reviews, I’ve got a lot to say. This one was: “What an effing mess.

    Don’t bother.

    2/10”

I sure as hell hope they actually put together a story that’s worthy of the subject matter this time.

    Oi-friggin’-vey.
