Empires of the Deep Set Photos Online

We get a peek on set of some of the costumes and imagery of an upcoming 3d underwater adventure fantasy called Empires of the Deep (formerly Mermaid Island) that stars Olga Kurylenko as a sexy mermaid. But check out these costumes. Some pretty staggering stuff here!

FilmoFilia shares:

Our protagonist is a young man with a hidden power. After a local temple is ghosted away overnight, he begins his search and encounters the mysterious mermaid Aka * their meeting triggers an unforgettable series of events which shake the mermaid world to its very foundations.

The movie explores the mysterious and apparently bizarre characteristics of mermaids, depicting their danger as welI as their exquisite beauty; and how their love can be both bewitching and deadly.

Now I could care less about the plot at this point, but happy they have one.

These pictures look amazing. I can’t wait to see what they do with this and such beautiful captivating mermaids and intimidating looking sea warriors and giants. So awesome.

  1. Olga will make such a lovely mermaid.

And the mermaid outfits are very unique, with such detail and colors.
When i look at the pics Avatar comes to mind for some reason.

seems like it can be an interesting film.

  2. chyeahhhhhh! Finally! I’ve been waiting for a mermaid-themed movie ever since I spent a large amount of my youth obsessed with them thanks to the Little Mermaid. I’m so pleased with the designs, they looks brilliant. Lookin forward to this one

  3. This stuff does look great and all, but not anything too far from what the Japanese have been doing for decades with their henshin and tokusatsu shows. Just look at any rogues/monster gallery of shows like Mirror Man, Kamen Rider, Inazuman, Barom-1, the Ultraman series and even the co-opted Power Rangers. Even with their mostly audacious and kooky designs, the scope and fearlessness to use such imagination is something I can only dream about Hollywood executing. It seems that for so many years if something isn’t an Alien, Predator or T-Rex riff, it’s an amalgamation of all three or just some slimy Cthulu derivative…

…okay, I get off my soapbox, think clearly and wipe the rabid foam from my chin.

    Thanks for the release.
