Paul Rudd stars in My Idiot Brother

Paul Rudd has signed to star in “My Idiot Brother,” a new comedy directed by Jesse Peretz. It’s a story about an idealist brother, with three successful and ambitious sisters. Production of the film is slated to begin in July in New York with the parts of the sisters to be cast soon.

Now there isn’t much information on this film other than Paul Rudd starring in it, and who the Producers/ Director of the film are. Even still just the general plot seems intriguing to me, for I am the younger brother to my only sister and I know what it’s like to be the “Idiot Brother.” She was an honor role student which lead her to be a pediatric nurse for the famous Sick Kids hospital in Toronto, where as myself was an average grade student who decided to find a career in the Arts as a freelance Video-Editor.

Now even though the film is named “My Idiot Brother,” it’s not going to be a “Step Brothers” type of film where the brother is an actual idiot. I believe the title is reflecting the point that as a brother when you choose to live your life in a way that to your sister seems bizarre or completely different than from her own, when she discussed you to her friends or partner she would refer to you as my idiot brother.

Tell me what you think? Are you a brother of a sister? Do you feel that you could relate to the character Paul Rudd is going to play? Or is it even possible to have an idiot sister? haha

I love Paul Rudd. Looking forward to this one…always makes me laugh.
In my opinion, he’s one of the most underrated actors in hollywood…he’s great in comedies and rom-coms…and he can do serious too…
I wish he had Arnchorman 2 on his upcoming slate (fingers crossed!)
he’s come a long way since Clueless lol

  2. Jeff says:

I would watch Paul Rudd do anything

  3. Judy says:

I am looking forward to a sympathetic portrayal of a biodynamic farmer. I am related to one, and he is a very intellectual, serious guy, and runs a very successful vineyard and winery. The world would be a much better place if all farmers were like him.
