Tom Hanks joins Triple Frontier

Kathryn Bigelow’s much anticipated Triple Frontier has been rumoured to also be titled Sleeping Dogs, and has had many names attached to it but never confirmed.

Well now Tom Hanks is officially signed on to the cast, but we do not know what role he might play.

Obsessed with Film says:

Tom Hanks will lead Kathryn Bigelow’s post-Oscar film Triple Frontier, which is gearing up for a mid-March start date.

This is Bigelow’s ‘Traffic’ style drugs movie set at the notorious border intersection of Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina where the Igazu and Parana rivers converge and crime is impossible to monitor.

After Kathryn Bigelow’s last film, I am willing to trust her, especially with dramatic content and tension like this promises to deliver.

And casting Tom Hanks in a lead role only further’s my interest.

But will Hanks play a law enforcement agent, or drug lord. I kind of hope he will play the badguy!

Has Hanks ever played a bad guy?

well, if you count “catch me if you can” (if you see my point) or “ladykillers” (he is pretty much the bad guy here)

Moreover, I hope this doesn’t stop him from being able to film The Lost Symbol.
