Another Resident Evil

If anyone wondered if the planned adaptation of the Devil May Cry franchise into a film series spelled doom and gloom for Resident Evil then let those worries wash away as Shock Til You drop is reporting that Alice will return.

Screen Gems has another chapter in the Resident Evil franchise in the works. And they want one in theaters in 2012.

The company has announced the presently untitled Resident Evil 5 will open September 14, 2012.

There’s no mention of who’s returning and who’s not but I would bet a kidney that we’ll see Paul W.S. Anderson’s name somewhere in the credits, along with Milla Jovovich. I’ve enjoyed the series thus far for what it is, which is a good excuse to get movie popcorn, and I like watching Milla doing insane stunts against the undead so I’ll be sure share more info with you guys as soon as it’s available.

  1. Am I the only one that noticed the problem in RE:4? I thoght Wesker took away Alice’s abilities? She does nearly the exact smae stunts in #4 that she does in 2 and 3. I.E. kicking someone 10 ft. away into a plane with such force that they’re knocked out for 10 hrs, jumping off buildings, that sorta thing. Any ideas or that just a mistake they made?

  2. YESS!!! I freakin LOVE the Resident Evil franchise! I also heard that Leon S. Kennedy will finally make his debut in this one, I hope he does

  3. The Resident Evil movies aren’t horrible. I love zombies so I’ll always give them a passing grade, even if its barely a C-. Im just tired of each chapter doing practically nothing to advance the story line. They just change locations. First underground, then city, then desert, then ice, then city, then ocean. Five minutes of story line spread over a 90 minute film.

      1. Yeah, it got thin in the first film, I watched Nemesis cause I really played the shit out of that one.(and loved it!)

        never came back after that.
        empty carcass IMO
        BUT You gotta Love Mila!

  4. I don’t hate the Resident Evil movies, but they’re just so bland and uninspired. There are a few good moments in the series, but the films just feel so hollow.

    1. Unles they plan to just ditch 4’s ending completely and retool the 5th for all new characters, we SHOULD see Claire and Chris back, and maybe Jill. You could also possibly expect Leon as Anderson wanted to use Leon but couldn’t put him in 4 due to story issues.
