Cage and Travolta in 2 more films together?

It’s been a long long time since they first made their epic pairing in the well regarding John Woo masterpiece blockbuster known as “Face/Off” and it seems that these two are both interested in no less than two film projects in which they could share the silver screen again.

The first is Shrapnel, written by Evan Dougherty and directed by John McTiernan. The second is Sea Trial, based on the novel by Frank De Felitta…

Shrapnel is about “a former Bosnian soldier who seeks vengeance against the American who badly wounded him by disguising a deadly war game as a friendly backwoods hunting trip.”

Chuck Roven is producing Sea Trial, which would be written and directed by Raymond De Felitta (City Island) based on his father’s book. The novel sounds sort of like Hostel on the seven seas as an adulterous couple set out to take a nice, romantic cruise only to find things on the ship are not what they seem.

Both projects sound interesting enough with Cage and Travolta and I would be interested in seeing either one if they become a reality. I liked City Island for its dialogue and small town feeling, and could see that passive tone creating a fun thriller. I’m hoping any one of them get made if both actors are allowed and able to bring the level of performances and chemistry that helped make them household names in the 90’s with Face/Off. I’m just glad they’re not trying to make a sequel or re-use remake.

  1. Why not there both cashing paychecks more than ever on stinkers, why not have both of them do it together, in the same movie to boot? probally saves the studio money not having to do 4 crappy films.

    just sayin’
for the record: Face off was pretty good at the time it came out. seems a little silly noe for some reason.

  2. i loved face/off, dont know why its hated on. i would love for them to get together for a film. as long as it doesnt get to where they are in the same scene together through the whole movie killing the magic like pacino/de niro in righteous kill
