David Slade clarifies’Daredevil’ and ‘the Wolverine’

David Slade’s name is popping up more and more these days as he’s received a substantial boost in interest in his next project, and he decided to chime in on the subject to help clarify any confusion.

Source: Coming Soon

So without breaking confidentiality, yes Daredevil, we have a great outline for a very strong character-driven take on Mr Matt Murdock. It will bare no relation to the previous Daredevil movie in any way.

We are at early planning stages and have not yet discussed any cast.

So I guess Robert Pattinson isn’t officially being considered, and this movie will have no connection to the previous film ruling out any possible return of actor Colin Farrell to reprise his epic memorable performance as hitman-for-hire Bullseye.

Also Slade shared his two cents on the rumors of ‘the Wolverine’:

WOLVERINE, there have been no discussions about this project to date. Interesting to see what will happen with that as the again excellent script by Chris McQuarrie was set largely in Japan.

I guess he’s acknowledging well in advance that this movie is expected to spend a substantial amount of time in Japan, but he hasn’t signed on to direct.

  1. Good to hear there coming from different angle, This NEEDS to be done to the letter (as above comment) for this to do justice to the source material.

to qoute Kevin Smith: “Daredevil is like the Grateful Dead of comics”

sooooo true! Dont fuck this up.

  2. I wonder if there is something to the Tsunami that made D.A. want to leave the project because it was going to be primarily in Japan. I hope not but it is a slow news day so I don’t have much to talk about besides speculation.

  3. Glad to here that they are rebooting Daredevil. The first movie didn’t get too much right but the radar sense. This needed to be done. Don’t bring back anyone from the origina, start fresh and do the character justice.
