A rep for the actress in Paris said that her involvement in the film is currently “in discussions, but nothing has been confirmed yet.” WB France has yet to comment.
There are rumors that the role she is working toward is the frequently mentioned Talia al Ghul character who’s father seemingly met his demise at the close of Batman Begins as her reps did confirm that the role is for a Bruce Wayne “love interest”
I like the casting idea and it’s been confirmed by her reps that she is in discussions for a role without confirming which character she intends to portray. The only questionable part is the fact that she’s very pregnant and is due to deliver in the spring with filming starting in the summer. Will she be physically and mentally ready to start filming in the summer? Also, I don’t think the internet is ready for the announcement of another villain in the film as it’s heavily debated that too many villains in a comic book movie produce bad films.
I like the idea of continuing the epic storyline and relationship between Bruce and Ra’s and I’m also starting to believe that Liam Neeson may make a surprise cameo similar to Willem Dafoe showing up in Spider-man 2 and 3. Normally a large cast like this would be a cause for concern but Christopher Nolan has yet to disappoint with his Batman films so I will unquestionably reserve judgment.
Count me as someone who’d love to see her play Catwoman, and switch Hathaway out to Talia.
