MSN FilmFan talks Summer Hits So Far and What’s Coming

I am back again with another installment of the MSN FilmFan segment to talk about .

MSN FilmFan has weekly updates for us each Wednesday and this will go on for the first half of the Summer Season, and I will see if you want me to take over these weekly features for the rest of the summer and beyond.

This week filmfan supergeek Sami Jarroush has a guest Glenn Kenny, Chief Movie Critic for MSN Movies, who recaps the summer blockbusters so far and tell us what he’s looking forward to this fall

I like that amidst all the popcorn summer blockbusters we get a little peek at the more serious films like Tree of Life and Paris at Midnight. These are really movies that strike the polar opposite of what we expect from summer films, but really worth the attention.

So what films have been your favourites so far? Do you agree or disagree with MSN FilmFan‘s Sami and Kenny? Any of them happen to be just outside the spotlight?

Let me know in the comments, and let me know how you feel about Sami Jarroush’s picks for this weekend?

  1. X-Men: First Class is hands down my favorite movie of the summer. Just a fun, entertaining superhero movie that made the X-Men cool on the big screen again.

However, my least favorite was Cars 2. A Pixar movie with the level of writing and voice acting of a show on the Disney Channel; that is a heartbreaking thing to say, considering these are the guys who gave us three fantastic Toy Story movies.
