This Conan movie is looking GOOD. That first trailer was a dud but the motion posters and following clips from the movie have won me over. MOMOA IS CONAN. Check out this latest TV spot for this upcoming movie:

It started off slow but really seemed to pick up in the end. I wasn’t always interested in this movie but I am now a convert and will follow this movie up to its release. The movie seems like a weird mix of “LoTR” like settings and wardrobe, some Hercules the Legendary Journeys charm, with a bit of Michael Bay type action for good measure. The Sum? Conan.

Easily my most anticipated film of the year.
Normally the music for trailers doesnt bother me when it doesnt fit the time period. But this one really seems to stand out.
I was liking this until halfway through when the rock video kicked in. My heart sank so low it remains on the floor.
I might be locked up shortly after getting my greasy hands over the person or persons responsible for advertising a Conan movie in such a manner. But since I don’t want to be put in the pokey I’ll do the next best thing.
Avoid the movie.
I agree with you, metal music, although I grew up on it, doesn’t fit the setting. Although I’m looking forward to this movie, nothing will compare to Basil Poledouris’s soundtrack. The song played for the Kitchen scene is hands down my favorite symphonic piece.
Please do not confuse that tripe with metal music. That is rock music at best.
Looks alright. On my personal radar. But then again, “Clash of the Titans” looked good too…
Okay, I’m looking forward to this one. And its nice to hear Momoa speak English, instead of Dothroki.
Yeah the metal music is irritating. Movie looks good though. maybe the actual soundtrack will be better. One can only hope.
Hoping the same thing. Wont be the first movie trailer I have seen where they added inappropriate music and ruined the footage. They think it makes it edgy and just ends up irritating people.
I have faith this is going to be great and I will be in the theater on opening day.
Hollywood Undead ( the band whos song in playing in the trailer) is -not- Metal ( i should know, im a metal head lol) and i do agree that the music does ruin the trailer. If they used -real- metal it would flow better but i wish they just used an original score to give Conan an epic tone. Im really digging Momoa as Conan. never thought they would find someone that can capture the badassness of Conan for a reboot. Still on my radar.
It irritates me that they this is confused with real metal. It makes me wonder when asked what type of music do I listen to and I say metal, that this is the music they think of.
they will always lump music together if they don’t listen. some people call puff daddy a “gangster rapper”, lol
It doesn’t really matter what subsect of rock it is – it still doesn’t work with the setting and theme they are going with.
I hope to hell its not in the movie.
I’m cautiously optimistic about this one. I’ll lay out my case:
Like other posters above, I don’t like the cheesy american skateboard-metal music in this trailer, and I pray it doesn’t reflect the film’s score.
At first, I didn’t think Momoa was the right choice, but I’ve become an obsessive fan of Game of Thrones since then, and anyone from that show gets an automatic 10 bonus points in my book. On the other hand, Khal Drago is probably the least developed character in the series, and the Dothraki scenes haven’t really connected with me the way the rest of the show has.
Harry Knowles liked the script, and I trust that he understands Conan, even if I don’t always agree with his taste.
The director is still my main concern. Nispel hasn’t shown much promise, and his ‘Pathfinder’ was a great idea executed very poorly. With any movie, it ultimately comes down to the director.
This looks like a very good B-movie.
Still a B-movie imo.
